Interested? Read on for more details: Welcome to Koholint, a world that exists only in the dreams of the Wind Fish! Our established and lore-driven world is full of mystery, adventure, and opportunities for growth and community, and has been active since August 2018.
When you first arrive in Koholint, you’ll first be called upon by the Wind Fish (our chief deity) to undergo a brief initiation ceremony. You’ll find a thriving marketplace, a functioning government (our bi-annual election is underway right now!), a university with real, community-led classes (Spring quarter is starting soon!), and all sorts of other amenities in our bustling capital town of Lurelin. Beyond the city limits, there’s a whole world of adventure waiting for you to explore, with group activities, quests, and mysteries to uncover, as well as regular seasonal/holiday events.
Koholint isn’t just a place to play Minecraft. It’s a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for creativity, storytelling, togetherness, and fun. We have a light roleplay element that adds lore and immersion to the game (but it’s entirely optional if that’s not your thing).
We do have a few rules to keep things running smoothly: cheating and griefing will not be tolerated, nor will any sort of discriminatory or hateful speech or actions, and we do ask that all members be 18 years or older. Because of the roleplay aspect of Koholint, there may be some laws put in place by our government that you aren’t used to in Minecraft, such as laws that protect mobs from inhumane conditions, and a bit of a disdain for large auto-farms that would dismantle our active economy.
Our primary communication platform is Discord, which allows us to stay connected across platforms and devices. *Takes you by the shoulders* I ADORE character profiles and character trivia and likes and dislikes sections. I love knowing this ruthless, heartless, cruel man of a character has a childish dislike for mandarin oranges. I believe in the inherent beauty of making all characters, no matter the background or moral stance, being made fundamentally human by assigning them insignificant culinary preferences. I stand by the supremacy of humanizing villains by giving them relatable tastes and trivial interests and ordinary hobbies. I treasure the hidden reminders that everyone is inherently human even when everything else we know about a character might suggest the contrary.
Here's the character you've only ever known as cruel and violent. All you know him for is mercilessly slaughtering the protagonist and his friends. He looks heartless and inhuman, and seems one with the shadows. He's the incarnation of a nightmare.
