My variant for The Life of Captain Marvel #4 🌟 available at your LCS this October! 💫 This one is being printed as a virgin cover (without any logos or cover dress) to keep it clean and focused on the art 😚💖

finally I finish this art, in my tumblr I have been showing small fragments of the process, but when I finished, I then thought that should not show it. This is a tribute to two characters that I wish they would interact more: Captain Marvel and Drax the destructor.

Drax in the comics do not have anything similar to his version of MCU, and it’s a shame, because I really like Drax’s story in comics, and as Jim Starlin, Keith Giffen, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning have contributed to the growth of the character. The best we could define him is like a Golem: a creature created by the father and the grandfather of Thanos, a cosmic entity called Kronos (Yeah, Thanos’s family is weird), using the soul of a deceased human called Arthur Douglas (killed by Thanos himself). Especially I like how Giffen wrote to him, reinventing Drax and creating a cold, intelligent and calculating person, a killing machine, which seems unwilling to let his human side flow. For a long time, Drax lived to execute an order, kill thanos, without remembering that he was once a human man who loved music and had a wife and daughter. Every time he has died, he has come back to life with different powers and personalities, even once he was a muscular creature more foolish than hulk. I remember with special affection the stage where he joined forces with Mar-vell and Rick Jones to save Titan

Carol Danvers, original Ms Marvel, has also suffered a lot in the hands of Marvel writers: She was introduced to the public as the head of security at Cape Canaveral, her obligation being to discover and arrest Captain Marvel (Mar-vell), a mysterious alien soldier Kree, (who in spite of that rivalry, they had their kisses). Because of the Psyche-Magnetron, her DNA was merged with the kree DNA of Mar-vell, also acquiring part of his brain memory, and becoming Ms Marvel unknowingly (her personality freaked out, believing herself to be a kree soldier) After overcoming this, Carol began to act like a superhero at the same time that she left Nasa and was dedicated to being the chief editor of a women’s magazine. Famous is her fight against the mutants Mystique and Rouge, because Rouge stole her powers and her memories. Then, she traveled to space and the monstrous beings called “Brood” kidnapped her and experimented with her, acquiring cosmic powers superior to her original powers. But sadly, she lost them again and all these experiences made her start drinking… And better not talk about the rape of Ms Marvel. Both characters very different (in personality and modus operandi) but yet they also have many things in common: such as memory loss, emotional detachment and lack of feelings for the loved ones, loss of powers, feeling that they live in a body that is not theirs, or emotional instability (in the case of Carol, even mental dissociation to have double personality, because originally she did not know that she was Ms Marvel and Ms Marvel did not know that was Carol Danvers)  Likewise, both have a common friend who was very important in their lives, Mar-Vell, although, they started being enemies of him (Friendship begins with punching in Marvel comics). Sadly, right now, they have been adapted for new generations after the MCU, and everything that I speak will no longer be valid, but part of me believes that something good could have been

Like Clarence Clemons and Bruce Springsteen (or Goliath and Elisa), I feel that they could form a good team before the MCU, like soldiers in the winter’s night With a vow to defend… No retreat baby, no surrender

Captain Marvel! 🌠 I was going to color the suit red/blue, but the green looks great too, so I decided to keep it.

It’s Wednesday! - Ms Marvel + Ms Marvel Generations

Whoah, change of pace and some time travel thrown in for what was an amazing issue to work on.  Kamala gets thrown back to 1970s New York to meet Carol and experience the joys of internship, I wonder if it was unpaid?
