It’s been a while. Let’s start there. 

I have kept up with Taylor since I was 13. I’m 19 now. Where did the time go? How am I in college? Anyway, I used to stay up late on here- sometimes until 5AM- just hoping for Taylor to follow me. (She did eventually!!) My life practically revolved around Taylor and this fandom. Throughout high school, I drifted away from tumblr, but never from Taylor. I hope she still follows me! Does that go away? I’m too scared to check. 

My point in writing this is I feel so lucky to have grown up with Taylor’s voice being the background to every part of my life. I remember 8th grade when 1989 released, huddled in the corner of my homeroom playing every song on my iPad and just gawking at the perfection of it. I remember the 1989 tour in all of its glory. Reputation was the soundtrack to my sophomore year of high school. It was the perfect album to play on my late night Friday drives home from dinner with my grandmom. And then Lover, the album that came out the day after I moved into college for the first time. I was scared to death, but hearing Cruel Summer for the first time? That experience never leaves you. And tonight, here I am listening to the old grammy museum performances, feeling very grateful and reflective. I’ve been to every tour since RED, and I will go to every other event Taylor has so long as I am able. I just feel like saying thank you.

Taylor, I am so grateful to have grown up with you. I feel proud to have witnessed your journey since RED, and I hope you know I am always proud to be a fan. Even though I may no longer be on here as much. This will probably get lost in all the fun gifs and serial killer night jokes (is that still a thing?), but I’m okay with that. Sometimes you just need to send a message out into the universe and let it find who it finds. Or be lost forever. Love you, Tay. I hope you and your family are staying safe out there. <3 Meredith
