2023: missives from desktop tumblr suggest that per the latest update my mutuals are being hunted by some kind of grotesque clown. staff assure us this is driven by user feedback.
idk what a one piece is, netflix, but let me tell you... this makes me never even want to accidentally click on the title on the app.
I love opening up this website first thing like the morning paper and immediately seeing multiple posts like “how to get rid of the evil clown on the dashboard”. like oh is this what we’re doing today
i think if tumblr was more into sports we would have a George "Sunday" Munday celebration every wednesday or something
happy george sunday munday wednesday thursday everyone
Someone tell me what this clown pirate thing is and how I get rid of it.
Daenerys was not "gifted" her dragons. She was gifted three petrified eggs. If she did not walk into a funeral pyre with her eyes open, and nothing but bravery and resolution in her heart, the eggs would not have hatched. She paid the magical price––only death pays for life––to hatch her eggs. As a character who is routinely criticized for burning Mirri alive as part of the ritual, at least be precise about how Dany acquired her dragons. She didn't get them for free or stumble upon them.
I like to headcanon that while Jon favors his mother in his appearance, he actually makes the same face expressions with his father ( when he laughs, when he broods etc).
So when he will eventually meet people who knew Rhaegar personally, like Barristan Selmy or JonCon they will be surprised to see how much this supposedly unrelated to Targs boy is resembling the former prince.
wow wtf happened to desktop tumblr this shit ugly af
the universe:
i pray that aug, sep, oct, nov and dec are all months full of growth, blessings, productivity, new doors open and opportunities
one of the things i like most about arya and dany is how see themselves as scared little girls AND monsters. because its delightful to me when those two things coincide. usually female characters only get to be one or the other; a pure princess or an evil bitch. but grrm lets arya and dany become more complex than that
arya and dany have gone through hell. they’ve been abused and lived on the run. all either of them truly wants to do is go home; to be safe and secure. they have so many doubts and fears. they really are just little girls but the last thing they can do is be afraid. especially while they’re navigating battlefields and fighting wars. neither of them exists within an environment that was made for them. little girls aren’t supposed to be soldiers or conquers. so they both draw strength through their sigils; the dragon and the direwolf. these fierce and monstrous creatures are a central part of their identities as well as tools for survival in a brutal world. when they’re scared or powerless they rely on their monsters. its a very dangerous part of them too. one they use to fight back against the injustice system they’ve been at the mercy of. and it isn’t always pretty.
but i think thats great. usually men are the ones with a darkness inside them. girls are supposed to be forgiving and gentle. men can be angry and vengeful and nobody questions it. its very refreshing that in asoiaf we have two young girls who get to embrace that and in a narrative that explores those darker feelings and actions without villainizing them
discussing asoiaf intertextually is at the end of the day a fool’s game. ‘i think the themes grrm is exploring with the lannisters play interestingly with richard iii’ i can’t get asoiaf fans to read richard iii. most of them haven’t even read asoiaf

kids these days who are fans of fall out boy and can just read the lyrics on spotify or whatever. do you know how lucky you are. when i was a lad you listened to an illegally burnt cd, heard a nonsensical string of syllables, and listened to it 100 times until you thought you know what was said. and then you got ahold of an album sleeve with lyrics and read the lyrics. and realise you were absolutely nowhere close.
my favorite AITA ruling comments
I’m a fan of this one.

The last greenseer, the singers called him, but in Bran's dreams he was still a three-eyed crow. When Meera Reed had asked him his true name, he made a ghastly sound that might have been a chuckle. "I wore many names when I was quick, but even I once had a mother, and the name she gave me at her breast was Brynden." -- Bran III, ADWD
