it’s just that black culture is so obviously funny to you guys. it’s why our language gets stolen to be a trend even when people know it’s black - because it’s funny. why else invite yourself into using language that isn’t for you? the black rappers are arguing and using their art to make statements about each other? must be funny. must be stupid, vapid drama right? must be another thing for yall to make your memes about and toss out the window once you decide to forget about black culture, when it you’ve had your laughs about it huh

i just KNOW that if this were some beef between the white artists of the month it would be taken so seriously and people would be talking about the greater implications of it - especially as one artist calls out not only a predator, but the industry and people who enable them - but because it’s rap it just isn’t deep to y’all

It IS true that being on here gives you a tumblr accent. This morning my mother asked me something and i replied "i don't know i've never heard these words in that order" and she nearly choked laughing. It wasn't even that funny

at my old job i had a coworker who was tired and made a coffee with like 6 or 8 shots of espresso and i just casually went up to them like “are you trying to meet god?” and not only was this absolutely hilarious to them but they brought it up in future conversations they thought it was so funny but to me this was just as casual as saying “woah that’s a lot of coffee”

Being funny on Tumblr and then going to be funny in real life is like traveling to a foreign country and baby the currency exchange rate is biased in your favor

I hope tumblr being invested in the Kendrick Lamar v. Drake drama will inspire more people to learn about hip hop culture and appreciate rap music more instead of doing that corny "I like everything but rap" shit. This shit genuinely has an entire interesting and complex history behind it. It's never just been about the music.
