i think some of you guys need to block more people im so serious

it’s a constant thing where people complain about negativity and certain parts of this fandom and it’s like. you can never truly escape the truly shitty parts of fandom, every fandom has bad people in it but also. you can block people you dont wanna interact with. if you have a specific part of the fandom you hate just go into the main tags and block a bunch of people from it, just block people you don’t vibe with. it’s that simple

i genuinely don’t think i’ve ever been a part of a fandom that was as toxic as the naruto fandom

i’ve been in the hunger games, marvel and the walking dead fandoms and there was no where NEAR this much drama and toxicity as the naruto fandom. it’s astonishing how disrespectful people can be to other fans just for liking certain characters and ships.

i’ve faced criticism and was even called misogynistic for simply LIKING sakura. the entire series of naruto holds a special place of my heart but my god it’s impossible to stan a character/ship without being bashed ffs

I still remember how some people signed a change(dot)org petition to ban the final chapter of Naruto because they were butt hurt to the max. Others were trying to redefine what the term heroine is - trying to use the Japanese viewpoint (love interest) while clearly meaning it from a Western viewpoint (main cast) and then trying to upgrade background/secondary characters to main through marriage. And of course throwing the homophobia and ab8se accusations for choosing the “wrong” ships and trying to change characters canon sexuality to unproven ones solely to claim their marriage is “lesser” (and that having more than one child means a couple has more sex than those with one child). I could go on with how ridiculous it was and still is especially when people try to pretend they aren’t butt hurt and bias. Toxicity is the main reason why I avoid actively engaging in other fandoms and communities because when I do come out from my rock to assess the fandom/community I regret it later. And the frustrating part is that those who participate don’t care or realize how toxic they’re being especially when it becomes just bullying and harassment that they then justify. It was like having a target on your back simply liking Sakura (and your opinion in Naruto discussions didn’t mean squat if you shipped her with Sasuke) It was unacceptable to praise her feats or point out how she’s being unfairly judged (especially the misogyny and how some women/girls fully participated it in especially when it came to Sasuke) for things that Naruto gets praised or (if negative) it gets downplayed.

I think I just found my favourite couple type.

One is a introverted badass that can not continue a conversation for more than 5 minutes and would kill anyone who even dares harming their loved ones.

And the other is an extroverted cute person, that can fuck up your shit, can be friends with anyone and loves their unsociable partner.
