I believe it’s important to eat well, even when you’re strapped for cash. It’s good for your health and energy! This cookbook is full of delicious and healthy recipes, the ingredients of which are fairly inexpensive.

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS COOKBOOK FOR MONTHS AND IT’S AMAZING 100/10 RECOMMENDING EVERYWHERE

(just to give you an idea, my food budget is 30 euro/week at most [about $38] and I have to maintain a healthy diet due to weird medication side-effects and yeah, basically this book is a lifesaver if you’re broke but need to watch what you’re eating)

Trump is a literal fascist and infinitely worse, but that’s not going to make me forget the fact that NSA spying and drone strikes in the Middle East have increased under Obama, or that we’re now in more countries militarily, or that our government has continued to support Israel despite its war crimes

fam come on, no one is perfect at all. every person has shitty sides to them and things that they’ve done that aren’t good. don’t tell a bunch of scared mostly kids that they can’t thank a president that did take strides in order to help them. let them have this right now. educate them, teach them about both sides of the argument, and always encourage them to question the ethics of their idols, but don’t shut them down and attack them right now. it’s too scary out there for them to not have a right to cope in the ways they need to.

Maybe the millions who have health insurance that wouldn’t have otherwise, or the kids whose parents were finally allowed to get married and/or who now know they’ll be allowed to marry whoever they love when they get older, or the ones whose families didn’t have their assistance benefits cut entirely? Yes, the US is a military power that has been intervening far more than it should in foreign affairs for more than half a century. No, Obama did not singlehandedly and unilaterally ignore Congress and the fact that the problems in that region are problems we’ve been creating since 1952. That doesn’t mean he can’t be appreciated in the context of what the office is and does and how he really-ass did help millions of people’s lives. Honestly, you kids are too young to remember how fucked up things were before he came into office, you take shit for granted, and you’re in for a rude-ass awakening with this orange fascist who makes Bush 43 look like a genius and a real statesman.

so am i the kid or are the people that like obama the kids? which group are we infantilizing to make weak political points in order to ignore the fact that people are actually idolizing obama for being hip and cool and making funny jokes when he’s increased deportations, increased drone strikes, etc etc etc?

it’s not a matter of “no one is perfect” and some sort of Your Fav Is Problematic thing. this guy is personally responsible for actual honest to god violence at home and abroad and people are too busy reblogging biden memes to actually recognize this for what it is.

This Doonesbury abortion cartoon was originally written by Gary Trudeau in 2012, in response to a Texas law requiring women to have an ultrasound before an abortion. It was banned from many major newspapers, and they ran syndicated cartoons in its place.

Now seems like an appropriate time to bring these cartoons back, with the passing of Texas’ new law requiring the burial or cremation of miscarried or aborted fetal remains. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Trudeau decides to write the sequel.
