the way she smiled on “straight to hell” was like “real fans know it’s go fuck yourself but i’m on network television right now” and i love her so much
Will it patch your broken wings?
who is the mystery harmonica man
Found him:
taylor swift performing “betty” at the acm awards, 2020
The video for cardigan “cabin in candlelight” version is out now using new behind-the-scenes footage from the album photoshoot.
honestly this is when it pays to be a taylor stan well-versed in her entire discography, including and especially her early work and unreleased songs. because the general public knows her for her confessional, straightforward songwriting. they’re used to taking her lyrics at face value. hence the many MANY texts i’ve received in the last hour asking me if taylor “broke up with her boyfriend” or if she’s ok.
but if you listen to early unreleased songs and selections of her work throughout the years, she’s proven she’s great at putting fictional storylines or other people’s stories to song. the emotions are real – they’re hers. but the details of the events are not ripped from the pages of her diary this time.
letting go of this insistence that every detail of every song is a clue to her personal life really frees us up to analyze these songs and find the universal humanity in them instead of just celebrity gossip fodder.
Chase two girls, lose the one
this is WAY more than just 16 songs she fucking built an entire world in her mind, wrote characters and stories and gave it rhythm and melody. this is on a whole new level of music not just in her career but also in modern pop
i can't believe i lived to hear a concept album made by taylor swift
I love how usually the instant reaction by everyone (fans, critics, general public) to taylor's music is analysing how it relates to her private life and trying to figure out which of her relationships each song is about so then with folklore she's just gone "yeah some of these are made up some are real some are about people I don't even know some are about me some are myths some are fantasy some are memory. enjoy."
“women like hunting witches too, doing your dirty work for you” is literally such a clever fucking metaphor for how we’re programmed to fight against other women because of the internalized misogyny that’s been programmed into our brains and the men just sit back and benefit from us all fighting each other i’m losing it
taylor swift said ok here have a song about being in love with a girl when you’re in grade school, a song about being a disco ball, a song about being in love with a girl when you’re in high school, a song about world war 2, a song about being in love with a girl w
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan, under someone’s bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite

other than songwriting, I just wanna say that I love how the songs flow, the melodies. you just get lost in the song unknowingly. its just so amazing how it captures you and draws you in in such a unique way
folklore by Taylor Swift
taylor just played folklore for the woodland creatures outside her house and called it a secret session… and you know what that’s fine
