Byron Kaye, Reuters:

One senator, Jacqui Lambie, deleted her X account on Tuesday to protest publication of the footage and called for other politicians to do the same, saying Musk had “no social conscience or conscience whatsoever”. She added Musk should be jailed. When an unnamed X user posted overnight that it was Lambie who “should be in jail for censoring free speech on X”, Musk replied to his 181 million followers, “Absolutely. She is an enemy of the people of Australia”.

Jacqui Lambie, epsecially when she was new to politics and associated with Pauline Hanson years and years ago, did seem problematic. Since I've been in Australia though, her positions have definitely become more reasonable with experience. Big advocate for veterans. Still a character, and I'm not with her on everything, but I'm quite confident in saying that she is actually one of the more‐liked — or, at the very least, less‐disliked — politicians in the country.

I wonder what Mr Free Speech Absolutist would have done if he was in charge when David Pearl happened.

Very happy that this is on the App Store outside the EU. Just as OpenEmu is made for Mac, Delta is a game console emulator — or, more specifically, emulator frontend — for iOS.

I very much remember (somehow) coming across screenshots of the pink DS Lite skin in Delta years ago. That pulled my heart strings and I was immediately lusting for it, but not quite enough to the bother with AltServer.

This is a great day for Apple's App Store.

Alex stayed home to play computer games, so I went out for Mega Heracross Raid Day with both my and his phones. And of the eight raids that I played for him, four of them were shiny!

I'm not particularly fussed about shiny Pokémon, really. They're nice to have, but not otherwise more useful. Half though‽ When I did all the work and all the walking‽

(I only got one shiny Heracross myself.)

The age‐old dilemma: should a toolbar icon indicate current state (this message has/hasn't been flagged) or indicate action/result (tap this button to flag/unflag this message).

In other words, should unfilled→filled mean…:

  • …the message was not flagged originally, and tapping it flags it.
  • …the message was already flagged, and tapping it removes the flag.

Could be less ambiguous if, in addition to being filled or unfilled, the colour of the Flag button also toggled in between states. (Like how the Shuffle and Repeat buttons in early iTunes were grey/unfilled/unlit when off, and blue/filled/lit when on.) Here, it could be blue+unfilled when a message is not flagged — the default state, matching the rest of the toolbar icons — and then tapping it sets a flag, plus changes the icon to orange+filled.

This isn't my day job, so I may be misreading things. But at a glance anyway, prices for Australian wheat seem to have gone from AU$600 per tonne because of Russia in 2022 to below AU$450 this year.

I had a look through receipts. And since at least May 2022, a loaf of bread from Woolworths' home brand has cost 40 % more. Going back further to late 2019 before COVID, it's 70 % more.

(Meanwhile, Alex's gluten‐free bread, depending on the brand, has had zero to ⅙ increase in price.)

eXtas1s, eXputer:

Its price, as per my knowledge, is expected to be introduced in a lesser bracket as compared to the currently available Xbox Series X, which retails for $499.99 in the US.

What if, instead of less, Microsoft offers this at the same price, but with additional internal storage? It was unpleasant to have to play data management tetris during Xbox One, and is even more so now with Series X and S, particularly because games require the internal SSD (or storage expansion card). 1 TB built‑in has passed the annoying mark, and now ridiculous.

Alex often likes to put on Skoottie. Often. But I swear: no matter how many I sit through, it's impossible to learn and pick up a game from scratch from them.

Like other than Number Go Big, or Number Go Very Big? Absolutely no clue what's happening in Balatro, let alone strategies. 40‑minute video? Meant nothing. Ditto with Super Auto Pets.

It's like if you sat me down in front of some pro LoL gameplay.
