You all remember when the British press threw a fit over Harry flying home to Meghan asap after that military exercise in Norway? They said it was because he wanted to spend their first Valentine's day as a married couple together. Turns out it's because his pregnant wife was fucking SUICIDAL and he didn't want to leave her alone.

This is on the other side of a paywall so I haven’t read it but I did read Anna Pasternak’s book and a similar article she wrote unfavorably comparing Meghan and Wallis a year ago. This is blowing up Twitter because on The Telegraph official Twitter they quoted the article saying:
“The saddest thing is that Wallis and Edward, despite being banished, were dutiful and patriotic to the end...Meghan and Harry, who took it upon themselves to leave Britain, seem unlikely to display similar loyalty to the Crown on Oprah tonight.”
Obviously this has people bringing up Nazi rumors and other shit like that. The interesting thing is, as I pointed out in response to Anna Pasternak’s similar article last year, her book was actually pretty decent and feminist and she very correctly pointed out how the media was biased against Wallis in defense of the monarchy and both blatantly lied about her and blamed her for things her husband did that she didn’t support. Yet Anna Pasternak is proceeding to do the exact same shit to Meghan. And she twists facts about both Wallis and Meghan to do this.
Now the question is, why is she so sympathetic to Wallis and so unsympathetic to Meghan? The obvious answer is racism, and that may be a factor, but I think more so than anything else Anna Pasternak is a professional royal commentator. She is someone who wants to get her bills paid discussing the royal family in the British media. In order to do that, you have to follow the party line, and the party line right now is to vigorously attack Meghan.
But then, the other question I had about this article, and last year’s article, is: who is this for? Who are the people out there who like Wallis and hate Meghan? Many royal commentators and monarchists have been comparing Wallis and Meghan in order to insult Meghan because monarchists generally hate both of them. The only answer I can come up with is a certain type of racist who is not committed to the institution of the monarchy but hates Meghan for being black. I’ve not encountered this much but I’m sure there are various types of alt-righters who like Wallis and David because they believe they were Nazis. But Anna Pasternak’s belief as stated in her book, and probably this article, is that Wallis and David were innocent of most of those allegations.
I am also not understanding the mindset (other than blatant racism) behind the people who worship Diana and hate what the royal family did to her but also hate Meghan and thinks she needs to shut her mouth.
ETA: There’s also the possibility this is pure clickbait trolling which is even more alarming for the British media to be doing.
Also now I’m seeing Anna went on a BBC morning show and dragged Meghan for only having one member of her family at her wedding. Wallis also only had one member of her family (Aunt Bessie) at her wedding to David. Viewing the clip which you can see here and seeing the vitriol this woman has for Meghan and the pleasure she seems to take in dragging her makes me certain this is about racism and not just trying to follow the party line.

This was really heavy, and I feel sick to my stomach over what Meghan and Harry have gone through.
Meghan wanted to end her life.
I cannot stop thinking about that.
Mostly, all I can feel is anger. Anger over the fact that still after everything, there is going to be a campaign by the British press to still hit hard, and fuckers on here STILL putting down this woman to protect the institution of the British Monarchy.
After everything. After Meghan revealing that this institution almost fucking KILLED HER, and had NO regard for her, or her son's life. They don't even care about the one on the way.
They are going to gaslight and tell you what was saw wasn't true, and this wasn't Harry's choice to leave. That the attacks against the palace are lies, and we must hear all sides. Deflect deflect deflect.
They are going to say "it's sad BUT" over what Meghan went through concerning her mental health being in distress, and then make some insensitive comment that the woman who was suicidal should have done her research and victim blame. "She should have known what she got into."
They're going to RALLY THE HELL around Kate about the fake white woman tears story, and why it was never knocked down while Meghan's image was destroyed. Allowed to go on for years and years and display Kate as the victim. Oh, she apologized with flowers after all.
They're going to say that good princes Charles and William are incandescent with rage, and are "saddened" they can't see Archie. One of them was concerned how dark he'd come out when he was born. Harry couldn't even give a solid answer of the status of his relationship with them.
And, they're going to tell you, still, that Harry and Meghan left because they wanted privacy and they still want benefits when they wanted security and protection. And to ensure their baby was SAFE.
Do. not. Let them.
Is this a threat? How else would they take this headline?
Weird how Meghan’s “bullying” is worthy of headlines and official acknowledgement and investigation by Buckingham Palace but this shit wasn’t.

For me its knowing H&M likely won't name names or go into too much detail that frustrates me. I never agree with Meghan McCain but she was totally on point. As were the rest of them. The royal family pulls shit like this all the time and has been doing it for centuries but this is the first time I’ve seen no one fall for it and basically everyone in the U.S. is calling them on their shit. It’s beautiful to see.
The British media has really gone mask off about the fact that they do The Firm’s bidding. It really is sickening.
