RWBY Recaps are on hiatus until further unhiatusing notice. Whether or not they'll be back to finish Volume Four, or even Volume Five when it comes back this Fall, is unknown at this time. Hope springs eternal for some form of content either way, so until then, thanks for stopping by!

RWBY Recap V4C6: Tipping Point.

Christmas has come and gone, and with it the candy canes, tinsel, eternally tangled Christmas lights, detailed plans to avoid spending time with family, and gift giving. My gift to you all is three recaps in this one week, but that's less a Christmas miracle and more getting back on track after a brief delay caused by V4C5's recap being, y'know, as cursed as the Defence Against The Dark Arts teaching position. The middle of a trilogy is either way better than the first movie or a Matrix: Reloaded, so judge for yourself as this week, Ren finds out who killed his parents, Weiss meets her soulmate, and Tyrian puts his theatre degree to good use. Old and busted recaps over yonder the RECAP MASTERPOST, new hotness below.

RWBY Recap V4C5: Menagerie.

Sometimes recaps come easily and sometimes they come hard, and sometimes they break the long standing rule of having recaps come out before the next episode, and break it in spectacular fashion. This recap managed the latter by virtue of being, in my professional medical opinion, fucking cursed. Writer's block to start, then my computer Chernobyl’d, and sometime between the swarm of locusts and all the firstborn sons of Egypt dying I had to admit that busting out the rock salt and lighter fluid so I could go full Winchester on this recap's ass wasn't a mature way to deal with my problems, and here we are. Non-cursed recaps can be found at the RECAP MASTERPOST, but click the KEEP READING below to see how I salvaged this disaster by adding in as many Raven jokes as possible!

RWBY Recap V4C4: Family.

Once upon a nine p.m. dreary, while Qrow pondered, drunk and weary, over many a quaint and curious World of Remnant lore; while he nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, t’was someone gently rapping, rapping at his chamber door. "'Tis my sister," he slurred, "tapping at my chamber door - only this, and nothing more."

In the spirit of the past week, for this recap I'm thankful that my recap's version of Taiyang almost turned out to be hilariously close to canon, and that Raven came back so I could use some of the jokes I've been saving up for two years. Previous recaps can be found at the RECAP MASTERPOST, but to join me on a journey of more Edgar Allan Poe references, click the KEEP READING below...

RWBY Recap V4C3: Of Runaways And Stowaways.

Before Volume Two aired I said of Yang, "One day she'll be broken," around the same time I said such gems as, "Pyrrha's probably doomed" and "Torchwick's either going to outlive every other villain or be that villain turned weird uncle type" and while hey, two outta three ain't bad, I'm starting to wish I'd predicted less heavy things to recap, like starving children or genocides or awkward Thanksgiving family dinners. Anyways, in this week's recap, Blake finds herself in the middle of a Herman Melville novel, Taiyang nominates himself for several Parent Of The Year awards, and I swing for the fences with a The Mighty Boosh reference or two. Old recaps at the RECAP MASTERPOST, new recap below, let's mosey.

RWBY Recap V4C2: Remembrance.

This past week's been one for the history books. The Cubs won the World Series, Vine's got a terminal illness and has six seconds to live, Pokeshippers became the fandom equivalent of Holocaust deniers, and my Ironwood Problem (™) has returned with a vengeance. In this week's recap, there's more Schnee family dysfunction than you can shake an equally dysfunctional stick at, Ren taps deep into his inner angst well, and Pyrrha's former existence is both acknowledged and treated with respect. Previous recaps can be found at the RECAP MASTERPOST, but for more blatant lies like that one thing I said about Pyrrha just now, click the KEEP READING below!

RWBY Recap V4C1: The Next Step.

Three seasons ago, Ruby Rose foiled a robbery and got herself free cookies and tuition for it. Two seasons ago, the greatest food fight in history of Remnant took place (only to be later usurped by the Blake Vs Adam fight in V3, if only for Yang's arm fitting the loosest possible definition of food). One season ago, everyone was alive and happy and still in school and fighting in a tournament, and now… boy did Bob Dylan have it right: the times they did-a-change. Lots to talk about, new faces everywhere, and also in this week's recap Salem attempts to educate a group of rough and tumble inner city students, while Jaune takes tactician cues from the guy responsible for The Bay Of Pigs. Intrigued? Click the KEEP READING below.

V4 Trailer Recap/V4 Predictions Post.

The hiatus is dead. Long live the hiatus. It's been a long one, and eventful in ways both non-RWBY-y - hurricanes and clowns and Ash Ketchum losing another goddamn Pokemon League (You were right there, Ash! Right. There.) - and RWBY-y - the Pyrrhexit, RWBY And The Cursed Child coming out (way too much time travel, tbh) and apparently there was something about chibis? Anyways, it's over now, rejoice all, and Volume Four has come to break us down into base components of pure sadness, also rejoice all. There's a whole lot to look forward to, but before that let's do a quick recap of the V4 Trailer then get in some general predictions for the madness to come. Sound like a plan?

New RWBY season means new RWBY Recap season, and RWBY Recap season’s startin’ early. V4 Trailer Recap/V4 Predictions coming soonish, but first, we’ve got a Volume Three Recap Recap dropping in a few days. One last trip down memory lane with all new screencaps to help us work through all the leftover V3-related trauma, and since I’m a real “drop them in the deep end of the pool to help them get over the death of their friend who died by drowning” kinda guy, it’s going to be rather therapeutic overall. Sounds good, yeah? See you then!

Me: Holy shit RWBY Volume Four’s coming October 22nd and there’s awesome concept art of post-timeskip Team RWBY out and we’ve got a badass trailer coming I’m so hyped.

Me: Hmm... I should go see what I’ve got prepared for the V4 Recaps!

Me: Perfect. No wait, cut that Pyrrha joke. No need to beat that dead Pyrrha anymore. She’s free now. Scattered to the winds... Wait, just thought of a new Pyrrha joke. Now it’s perfect.

That feeling when you’re hyped for a show for four years, its very existence questioned at every turn almost to the point of wondering if it was destined to become only a fevered dream never to be attained by mere mortals... and then the show comes out, and it’s amazing, but the week-long wait for the next episode feels waaaaaay longer. Dammit.

RWBY Recap V3C12: End Of The Beginning.

Many Bothans and Roosterteeth Servers died to bring us the finale, and now we stand on the precipice of hiatus and wonder, "Was it worth it?" We laughed, we cried, we cried, we cried, we didn't laugh at all why did I say that we laughed, and yet, much like Pandora's Box, there was hope, right there in the end. Also, I recently discovered that Pandora's Box? Actually a jar. Not even a box. False advertising! Speaking of, this final Volume Three Recap was made on a $150M budget, cures cancer, supercancer and superdupercancer, and was the project that finally got Leonardo Dicaprio his Oscar. Meanwhile, Pyrrha has a date with destiny, Taiyang can't keep the Impregnator 9000 in his cargo shorts, and we come to realise that even if there was a Bumblebee wedding on the horizon, Blake would probably run away from the altar anyway. To catch up with all the recaps so far check out the RECAP MASTERPOST, and when you're done click the KEEP READING below and enjoy the finale!

Next Season On RWBY:

-- Ruby and the remains of Team JNPR face difficulties on the road when they realise the only navigator their friend group ever had was Pyrrha, thanks to her innate sense of magnetic north. Eventually, in the dead of winter and with their supplies completely gone, they end up resorting to cannibalism. But don't worry - Jaune is eaten first.

-- Utilising both her keen sense of business acumen and utter ruthlessness, Weiss is able to enact a successful coup at Schnee Corp. She now spends her days enforcing her rule with an army of Penny 2.0s, and while she looks fondly on her tenure as a member of Team RWBY, she can't help but think they were holding her back from her true potential in matters of world domination.

-- The first day Yang decides to get back out there and live life a little, she loses her other arm in an unfortunate accident involving a particularly ravenous woodchipper. When she hears the news, a guilt-ridden Blake returns to offer to transplant one of her own arms to her partner, but ends up running away again before the surgery once she learns just how big the hospital bills will get.

-- Neptune not only gets over his fear of water but turns out to be a swimming prodigy, and abandons his Huntsman career to pursue it. Once his teammates discover they too want to become swimming champions, the four of them become a swim team loaded with ambiguous boy love the likes of which the anime world has never seen. Their brief attempt to help their friend Yang out of her depression by turning her into the world's greatest double arm amputee swimmer, while admirable, does not amount to anything.

-- Mercury and Emerald, lost without Cinder, are soon captured by Ironwood, and tasked to join his and Winter’s secret project: The Suicide Squad. However, when DC decides to make a Suicide Squad movie, Mercury and Emerald are quietly killed off to avoid confusing audiences with the movie versions of the characters.

-- An out of work Neo soon returns to her original passion: writing, and she produces a script for a Valeway play called Springtime For Torchwick. The script is controversial to say the least, and hasn’t gotten picked up yet. Still, she’s hopeful. We believe in you, Neo.

-- Ozpin remains missing. Even Raven Branwen has to concede to his superior hiding skills, though she claims she did a more effective job by leaving behind a daughter when she disappeared. Nobody will at least give her that much, especially her completely armless daughter to whom Raven only briefly thought of sending a Get Well Soon card to before thinking better of it.

-- One night while flying around in his crow form, Qrow hits a window and breaks his neck. Don't drink and fly, kids.

-- In the afterlife, Pyrrha discovers her destiny in the form of Tukson, the two falling in love after bonding over their shared experience of being killed by bad guys. Amber, meanwhile, manages to end up in a coma in the afterlife, then comes out of it for four seconds before dying again. Somehow. Nobody knows where she ends up beyond the beyond, but it's fair to say wherever she is, she's suffering.

RWBY Recap V3C11: Heroes And Monsters.

Blake Belladonna, by the end of this episode, probably: "At first I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live, without you by my side. But then I spent so many nights, thinking about all those people you killed, and I grew strong, and forgot about you before long. And now you're back, from the moon outer space; I just walked in to find you here, with that creepy look upon your masked face. I should've stopped you ages back, I should've drawn a line in the sand, if I had known for just one second, you'd be back to cut off Yang's freakin' hand." That about sum it up? For more recaps with even less Gloria Gaynor song parodies, check out the RECAP MASTERPOST, but to witness many miracles from Bunny Jesus, click the KEEP READING below.
