HI FRIENDS I'M STILL HERE!
I've had a chaotic few weeks!
Colette had a stroke and we thought we'd never see her again. Turns out, she has Cushings Disease. Over the past few weeks with the vet visits, tests, treatments, etc. we've spent over $4000. She hopefully just has one more test to do and yes it's another $300 but I hope this is the last one! Our old vet that's been helping us through this is like 30 minutes away and it's been rough getting her there during the work week. If the dose is right, we're good for 6 months! I'm still mad at the emergency vet guy we had who basically told us it was going to be the end and we literally almost put her down for *nothing*. She's doing a lot better and wants to chase squirrels and play fetch. Like that guy had horrible bedside manner and I'm still mad.
Our new vet is down the road, and we take our new puppy Selena there. I'm not a huge fan and I wish our old vet was down the road. The first time we took her there (and basically the first vet she'd ever really been to), she puppy nipped at the vet tech. I don't condone biting in any way, but instead of letting us try and correct the behavior, she was muzzled and is now labeled as an aggressive dog and they want us to put her on sleeping meds every time she comes in so she's less anxious. Ya'll I'm mad. She got spayed the other day and the vet tech was too scared to take her leash off even though she was super doped up after a major surgery! Maybe don't work with animals? There's going to be some traumatized animals that come in, and this is just puppy mouthing behavior (again no excuse, but also very common!).
We boarded her there for our wedding (oh btw we got married! Pictures to come!), and she had so many behavioral issues coming out of that. Our first week of being married has been a bit strained due to these dogs and all their issues. Hopefully we can find some balance soon with their sicknesses and behaviors. We'd love to honeymoon sometime but for now even a mini-moon seems impossible.
But we've been married a whole week! What a beautiful wedding we had! We had it at a state park, had all our food from local businesses, and we didn't use any plastic. Very eco-friendly!
My friend made me a dress inspired by all the folklore dresses from the eras tour put together. I'll really have to post pics on their own. I just wanted to give a little life update for now. When the photographer pictures come out, I'll def be sharing!
Anyway, I'm listening to midnights today. I hope you are too.
