Uncomfortable would be the best way to describe the expression on his brothers face. He seemed to try and look everywhere around the restaurant to distract himself. That was until he sat down, that when the young scythes attention back to him.

The expression on his brothers face face, brought back a few memories. It was the same expression Soul had on his face when Wes have to get Soul to tell him when something bad happened, or when he had to admit that he did something wrong.

Tapping his fingers against the table, not knowing who to start this conversation, he smirked a bit when his brother was the one who started the conversation.

“I work at the Bike shop, just around the corner,” Wes gestured towards the direction the snap was, “I work as a mechanic there…”

       “Cool.”

A mechanic. Not shocking but a surprise still. Picturing his brother working on bikes. Not playing the violin in front of many admiring fans. Most of them being people that their parents knew. Soul was use to seeing his older brother in the tuxedo, making small talk with strangers, and speaking about his music. Not getting dirty and focusing on motorcycles.

The Weapon stared down as he continued to think about the situation. His brother had a job in the city. Making a life for himself. It would be wrong to tell him to leave. He’d have to start over. Anyways, the city was big. Not like they’d see each other much. So Soul could still have that distance, right?

“So what do you want to talk about?”

“If you’re okay with that, that would be great; thanks,” she said when he spoke of bringing her to the class. Eloisa then turned to head out of the doorway of the EAT room, knowing she was far from needed there.

As he introduced himself, the girl nodded in understanding. “I thought you seemed familiar,” Eloisa said with a light laugh. “You’re pretty well-known as a Weapon; same with your Meister- Maka, isn’t it? You’re both pretty much famous at this school.” She smiled more. “It’s kind of cool to be at the same school as you guys. Maybe one day I’ll be as good as you, Mr. Eater.” Manners was engraved in the girl, it seemed.

The Weapon began to walk to the other side of the school, where he knew some classes would be held. Probably the History courses or learning how to control both forms and multiple transformations.

Knowing that the girl knew about him already and his partner didn’t surprise him. The EAT students were well-known. But hearing that he was famous sounded odd. The teen was barely getting use to the attention. Guess being a Death Scythe made someone famous. And here he thought he was just the coolest guy in the academy.

“Thanks. Sure Maka would feel honored or something. And you can call me, Soul. Not a fan of the mister.”

Wes gave an amused eye roll when his brother wanted sushi. “Should have known.”

Somethings were never going to change. Whenever their parents never came home, or were out late, the two of them would always sneak away to get so sushi. It was almost like a tradition.

Following after his brother, he trailed behind him at a bit of a slower pace, letting his brother take the lead. He could tell that Soul wasn’t excited about the conversation they were going to have at the place, but he was sure excited about getting a free meal out of the situation.

Seeing the restaurant come into the view, Wes had to gently push his brother to table, so he didn’t stand at the bar, watching them prepare the sushi in front of other customers.

“Down, Squirt.” Wes chuckled, trying to make light of the situation before, things to serious, and possibly into an argument.

Unlike their last chat in the sushi place, Wes was the one in charge now. It was obvious once they entered the restaurant and the older male made him sit down immediately. It wouldn’t be an easy conversation. It was something he was not looking forward to.

       “Okay.”

His attention was on the people who delivered and made the food. It wasn’t until his brother took his seat that Soul focused on him. So was it time to begin their talk? Did Soul need to have his decision already? Because while he thought about it, he wasn’t quite sure what to do just yet.

       “Where are you working?”

You should believe it! Why else would they break you so far down that you ran away. It was their plan from the start, they wanted you gone. Maka probably just took pity on you because you looked so pathetic and lost.

I dare you to go on anon and break my muse.

       “Shut up.”

No way in hell was he going to believe that crap. Like Wes and Granny would do that. Raise him for years and support his decision to join the DWMA. If they really didn’t care about him, they would have left him alone just like his parents did.

As for Maka... That wasn’t like her. The Death Scythe knew her. She wouldn’t have teamed up with him out of pity. That would have been idiotic. She had a mission and so did he.

       “You’re annoying.”

Your parents didn't want you around, your grandmother didn't, and your brother probably didn't even want you around. Hell your meister doesn't want you around either.

I dare you to go on anon and break my muse.

Now he found that one to have some truth and some lie. Who knew how his parents felt? But Wes, Granny, and Maka. If they really didn’t want him around... They would have treated him differently.

Wes and Granny cared about him. Maka was not only his Meister but his best friend and he knew the feelings were mutual. So he wouldn’t believe it.

Your parents don't even claim they have a youngest son anymore. Why bother, they probably didn't want you in the first place. A weapon for a child, please.

I dare you to go on anon and break my muse.

Was that true? It must have been a lie. But it would make sense. After all, Wes got their attention most of the time. He was the perfect son. And the Death Scythe truly felt like he didn’t have a mother and father when he was home. He was treated like a visitor and not a son.

Could it have been because he was a Weapon? All that time... He thought it was because he could never be what Wes was... Perfect.

The EAT class. If the Italian recalled right, that was the class for the Weapons and Meisters who actually knew how to fight and all that. Definitely not the class Eloisa needed or wanted.

At his question, she slipped her phone into her tote bag. “The one for Weapons only,” she replied, then smiled at him. “I’m Eloisa; it’s nice to meet you.” Her English had most definitely improved over the last year, though her accent was still obvious, but she didn’t care. It was something unique to her at the DWMA, she figured.

“Weapons’ class. Cool. I can take you there.”

Soul looked behind him to check on his Meister. Just to make sure she was distracted before walking out. And like he predicted, the bookworm was reading a novel she had gotten not long ago. So it was the perfect moment to sneak out. He’d return, of course. Maybe. At least he was leaving for a good reason.

“Nice to meet’cha, Eloisa. I’m Soul Eater.”

                           Brace yourself for resistance.

The reaper gave a scoff as the tightening of his grip gave away the fear of the two wheeled object.  Of course he would never admit to the albino verbally he was frightened by it.  It wasn’t even that Kid was frightened by the vehicle itself rather, how recklessly the scythe drove the vehicle.

Kid just wanted to get this over with so, after giving a glance or two around the academy surroundings, he cuddled up closer to the weapon before slowly placing and repositioning Soul’s arm around is shoulders to assure the other’s elbow bent just the perfect way.

We could always use Beelzebub to y’know…

Kid muttered in a last attempt to stay away from the bike.

Image

       “Yeah. I was expecting that.”

The bike wasn’t a villain. So why fear it? Soul would never believe it had anything to do with his driving. His Meister never complained. Not once. But maybe because she was use to it. The female had grown comfortable with his driving and the bike. While Kid on the other hand...

Soul allowed his boyfriend to mess with his arm as they walked over to his favorite object. The bike had a special meaning to him. It was a gift. He’s been driving it for years now and in his opinion, it was the quickest way to get to their destination.

“I like my bike. You could use Beelzebub and I’ll meet you there.”

Again just a simple one worded answer. Maybe he dropped to much on his brother at once. After not seeing each for nearly year, he drops multiple bomb shells on his brother. maybe he should have done this slower. Reading his brother was hard. He wasn’t happy, but he didn’t extremely angry. But he didn’t what emotions were festering under the surface.

Letting out a small sigh, Wes gestured his head over his shoulder, indicating his brother which direction he was heading in the first place, “I’ll let you pick, Squirt. My treat.”

He knew that his brother was going to weigh on the choice if he wanted to stay in Death City or move out. He would respect his brothers choice, he did leave to get away from him, and the family. To intrude was probably life-shattering.

He just hoped that his brother didn’t dwell on it for to long. If he wanted him to leave, he didn’t want to get any more invested in the City then he already was. His brother wasn’t the little kid that followed him like a shadow anymore, he was a a big boy.

Image

It felt familiar. Wes treating him. Allowing him to pick. Going somewhere to eat and talk. But he wouldn’t complain. Better than going home, too tired to even cook something for himself. Eating out was cool and if he wasn’t paying, even better. But maybe it would have been best to let his brother pick because if Soul did, he was going to say...

       “I’m picking sushi.”

The teen stood up and walked in the direction that his brother motioned to. His hands slipped into his pockets as he let out a small yawn. He appeared fine. Just his usual self but he wasn’t feeling himself. No. He had to make a decision. One that stressed him out even more.

He rather be on never ending missions then dealing with the issue presented to him. What was he suppose to do? Running away wasn’t a good idea. Not after working so hard to become a Death Scythe... And of course, he could never leave Maka. But telling his brother to leave felt wrong as well. He was conflicted.
