                            He moves to pull his legs against his chest, curling in on himself stiffly. It would be easier for him to keep his gaze averted, stay quiet && hope that she would get the hint && find someone else to talk to. The excited gleam in her eyes makes this nearly impossible, though. She seems so passionate about the topic that he can't bring himself to ruin it. 

                                      ‘ —— A... are there any here right now?

                             It’s taken him all night, several different medications && a very large bowl of rice to complete his latest project. He doesn’t even realize that the night has passed until a quiet footstep announces the presence of another. He startles slightly, sitting upright from his slumped position. Tired hues of gray shift toward the other enforcer, heavy eyelids blinking slowly. 

                                      ‘  —— M - morning... already...  ’ He mutters softly before turning his attention back to the screen of his computer.

                       It’s almost regretfully that he extends his arms, offering the small plush toy. There’s something comforting about the soft texture of its fur, && he almost doesn’t want to part ways. He’s already managed to become this attached in the few moments it took to pick it off the ground && track down the boy who seems to have dropped it.

                                         ‘  —— I - I think this is yours.

                      A small meek nod was given, finger lifting from its position on her shoulder. It was a small beetle that had found its way to her head, crawling leisurely between strands of hair. He moved to gently pluck it from its position, allowing it to instead meander in the curve of his palm. 

                                           ‘ —— Got it. ’  He spoke softly, lifting his hand to her eye level.

                      He somehow doubts that anyone would choose to lay in the street simply because they wanted to. Concern, though the hesitance of anxiety mark his voice as he calls out to the stranger at his feet. Teeth work nervously at the nail of his thumb as he speaks, his voice is breathy && quiet.

                                     ‘ —— U- um... are you hurt?

‘ —— Are there a lot of them?

                          Fingers work nervously at the hem of his hooded jacket as he speaks in a near whisper. He’s not sure what prompted her to approach him, of all the people on the bus, but her topics of conversation are unusual to say the least.

                                                   ‘ —— F- fairies, I mean...

                  Pale lips press into a thin frown, single visible eye shifting back && forth as he hovers just behind her. It takes another moment before he’s able to will slender digits to reach out, placing a light touch to her shoulder. 

                                    ‘ —— y- your hair... there’s a bug in it.
