the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.
beyond that the columbia common is literally an open space during the day; the gates are open and it's possible to pass through it like you'd pass through a regular block. even after my student ID expired i was still able to walk through the commons bc ID is not requested until you enter an actual building. it's quite common to see parents, toddlers, and such who are clearly not enrolled just hanging out. so not only were the students not trespassing at a SCHOOL THEY PAY FOR, there was also not a precedent for non-students to be disallowed from the grass and walkways.

AITA for playing revenge music at my upstairs neighbor?
I live in a small apartment building inhabited by almost exclusively single mothers, the woman above me included. I have met her briefly in the hallways, and helped her bring in her groceries once.
She has recently gotten a boyfriend, and I know this because they have very loud sex directly above me. I'm not talking I can hear the bed rocking, I am saying I can hear both of them moaning. She will also have screaming break-ups with this man over the phone. All of this happens when the kids (a toddler and an infant) are at home and awake. At first, it was awkward but I was fully willing to just be like "okay good for her" and put some headphones in for a bit. But it's at random times of day, sometimes for an hour or more. So, today I started playing some incredibly unsexy music (Inside by Bo Burnham, etc) at max volume on my computer speakers. Whether because they were done or because of my music/the realization I can hear every weird thing they call each other, they stopped quickly.
AITA if I keep doing this when they're fucking while I'm trying to get work done in my office?

I have been asked for something new from MDZS! I admit it took me some time because many of the prompts I got had some sweetness in them (like, please make them hug or kiss or stare lovingly) and I had no idea why it couldn't sit right with me. Well, for me MDZS is more about being selfish and blind to those who care about you, pointless waiting and grieving, and being VERY lucky. I seriously couldn't paint fluff having all of this in mind, but I hope you won't mind (I still tried my best! xD)
