Didn’t include one of the most egregious cases of all, the time the NYPD had a cop involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital. He was released after a week when the doctors determined he was fine and not ill in any way. He had reported fellow cops for brutality.

The officer’s name is Adrian Schoolcraft and the hospital still billed the family.

Notice they’re mostly women, people of color, and elder people.

Actually, Nintendo thought this through! When I was fighting my friend’s pokemon at the gym, all of them were nicknamed, but they just came up as their regular pokemon names. So no child will see any type of inappropriate name someone decides to give their monster.

Edit: usernames DO show up, though, so please don’t be a jerk on that front.

Today I was pulled over for “speeding” and when I picked up my phone and told the officer I wanted to call my mother so I could have a witness on the phone because he was being irate…. He snatched my phone from me and dragged me out of my vehicle, refusing to let me call anyone. His coworker pulls up in the midst of it all and although from the look on his face he obviously knew the situation was wrong… He stood by and let that man handle me the way he did. So when you mufuckas are hollering that “not all cops” bullshit, just know that the cop standing by watching it happen is just as fuckin guilty as the one doing wrong.

You’re not allowed to make a call, or interrupt an officer when they are involved in a stop. It’s for their own protection. Your ignorance isn’t a validation of racism, it’s just ignorant. 

I’ve actually had the same thing happen to me, and the officer explained to me that it’s a precaution they take. I understand that. 

It’s not smart to act skiddish, and if you want a record of your account with the police then you should install a dash cam.

And, like many developers who build those apps, Niantic keeps that information.

According to the Pokemon Go privacy policy, Niantic may collect — among other things — your email address, IP address, the web page you were using before logging into Pokemon Go, your user name, and your location. And if you use your Google account for sign-in, unless you specifically revoke it, Niantic has access to your entire Google account. That means Niantic has read and write access to your email, Google Drive docs, and more. (It also means that if the Niantic servers are hacked, whoever hacked the servers would potentially have access to your entire Google account. And you can bet the game’s extreme popularity has made it a target for hackers. Given the number of children playing the game, that’s a scary thought.) I checked this earlier today in my own app permissions and it’s 100% legit. This obviously was not intentional but its such a gross and blatant security flaw.

They’re aware of the issue and are working to reduce permissions though.
