"Hey you, Shisui?" Renji asked as he entered his dorm. The indivudual that was question nodded. "Cool. I'm Abarai Renji, your new roomie. You can just call me Renji though." He sat on his bed and propped himself against the wall. He looked around. This was weird, he hadn't had a roommate in a long while.

"Likewise. It's real cool to getta know new people - I hope we get along!" He beams at the man, taking to note his rather strangely coloured hair and tattoos.

Certainly everyone has their own quirks, Shisui supposes - his own shinobi had found themselves in all sorts of weird up-dos, and proven themselves trustworthy comrades, time and time again. Maito Gai, for one. And he was one of the best people he knew.

This Renji, whatever his hair is like, seems nice enough.

"D'ya want chocolate? I have a bag of them in the fridge - you can get them any time, yanno."

Table Talk | @Shisui

Good to know me? Well that’s a new one. I should send this guy Shikamaru’s way…

"You’d have to work a lot harder to take me out," Temari assured him, biting into the bun as if to lend credibility to her claim. If this thing was poison, she was a cactus.

“Forensics! I major in forensic anthropology. We’re all sorta experts in this area, from what I gather. Ta, morbid discussion we’re having here. What’s yours?”

"A hazard of having ghosts for classmates," she said around a mouthful of dough. Alright, so the bun was pretty good but if Shisui didn’t make it, he wasn’t getting credit for that.

"International Security," Temari informed when she finished. He sure was chipper — and curious. As shinobi, curiosity kept you alive but charisma was optional. She wasn’t used to it. Between her late father, her stern sensei, ‘Kranky’, Gaara, and of course Shikamaru, the men in her life weren’t exactly a laugh riot.

"You always this lively, Shisui?"

"Ah," he says, amused. "Work a lot harder to take you out, eh? Plenty high expectations you set there, though I wouldn't doubt it myself."

The lady was perhaps, a woman of force and harsher than they usually come about, but all the more intriguing. A character.

As it is.

"And the great Temari-sama has ghosts for classmates? Unconventionality sure is the fashion nowadays," he deadpanned. "But there does seem to be a variety of people, here."

"You always this lively, Shisui?"

He shrugs the question off. "I don't think anyone particularly cared for how I held myself, so I don't know. Suppose so."

"Say, what do you think of a match, friendly-fire? You know, a baking competition or swimming, or something. We could arrange a date."

So We Meet Again... [@Shusui]

Somehow it was nice to know that he wouldn’t just be going along with her choice for the sake of it, that he was as equally excited about getting Chinese as she was. It was also a comfort that she wouldn’t be costing him any additional expense even if he had offered.

"It’s been a while since I’ve had dim-sums…"

The statement was true enough since she was the one that normally fed her family and even although she took great pleasure in feeding them, Yuzu did wish that they would ask for something other than curry every once in a while. It’s not like she didn’t have an entire selection of recipes floating around in her head that she was just dying to have them taste test…

Shaking her head slightly to bring herself back to the present, she was in time to see her host yanking a t-shirt over his head upon finally realising that he had been half naked. As relieved as she was that she no longer had to avert her eyes, at the same time she almost felt a pang of disappointment although she couldn’t imagine why.

Maybe I really am coming down with something…

Hearing the muffled apology aimed in her direction, Yuzu merely laughed sheepishly and tried to ignore the fact that her cheeks seemed to be flaming for the umpteenth time that day. At least Shisui’s vision was temporarily blocked by his shirt which gave her some time to compose herself.

"Ah don’t worry about it, Ichi-nii and Otou-san walk around like that all the time…"

The fact that the effect on her was entirely different was completely besides the point and would be kept to herself.

Ichi-nii and otou-san, hm.

Wonderingly, he slots his arms through the shirt. Conversations regarding one's family don't bode well with him at all - but it had been so long. He'd thought that it'd go away, the distraught, the absolute yearning. The sadness takes hold of you and never lets go, it seems. Being with Itachi was a very miraculous thing in itself, but it dug up some old wounds.

He does hope that this time round, he'd be better prepared for his feelings.

Not that it matters. Itachi's here, and so's Sasuke.

Pulling down the last of the sleeves over his arms, Shisui smiles at Yuzu - she doesn't deserve to bear the weight of loss, no one does - and stands up.

"Would you like to join me? The restaurant's not too far, and all - we can walk there. It's perfectly up to you, of course."

And so,

"Your family - are your brother and father here, as well?"

"Hmph. Looks like an Uchiha, but it actually knows how to smile. What's your deal, curly?"

"Food?"

He offers a bun to the lady.

"I don’t suppose we met before? I’m Shisui - and you already know my family name."

Temari took the bun, gesturing with it instead of taking a bite. What did he take her for? A dog?

"You suppose right," she assented. "I’m Temari. My family’s from the Sand Village." This Shisui guy didn’t need her life story. Life was different here, anyway. "What you majoring in?" she glanced at the food she’d been handed then back at Shisui. "Culinary?"

"Good to know you, Temari-san."

Culinary? Should I be flattered?

"I didn't make that bun," he says wryly. "It's worth a bite, yanno. Shouldn't think of doing in anybody here, much less you. Don't worry."

Straightening up, he beams broadly and continues. "Forensics! I major in forensic anthropology. We're all sorta experts in this area, from what I gather. Ta, morbid discussion we're having here. What's yours?"

How was it that words could have such an effect on her that made her heart beat increase and her face feel uncomfortably warm? Unless she was coming down with something but hopefully that wasn’t the case. Yuzu ducked her head slightly so that the other occupant in the room wouldn’t notice her pinkening cheeks and only raised it once more when she heard him approaching.

It was a mission not to have her cheeks flaring red all over again when she noticed that Shisui was still without a shirt but couldn’t bring herself to mention this fact for fear that he would tell exactly how flustered he was making her. She allowed him to take the bentou from her and only jolted slightly when his warm fingers casually brushed against hers. Maybe there was something wrong with her after all…

Yuzu was admittedly touched that he left the decision of their meal up to her although the fact that he was willing to have take-away at all was even better. She had grown accustomed to preparing food for her family so occasions that they ate anything other than her cooking were few and far between. Not that she minded of course, it was just nice to have a break from time to time.

Nibbling on her lip slightly in contemplation, she eventually turned hopeful eyes in the direction of the older male as she offered a bashful reply.

"Could we get Chinese?"

"That'd be nice! I was just thinking of it, actually. Great minds think alike."

He smiles at her, and offers, "What would you suggest? I have a few coupons here from the nearest Chinese. The dim-sums look real great, though."

It is at this juncture when Shisui decides to glance down (while reaching for the coupons), and finally notices his state of undress. Wrinkling his nose in slight annoyance - having a lack of clothes is a matter of such unimportance - he turns around and scrabbles for his shirt, and tugs it on in a swift stroke.

"MSawry..." came a very muffled voice, while he was still in the process of wearing it. "Sorry, I hope that hadn't bothered you. It really isn't the best thing to leave a good first impression, eh."
