4 years ago, Iceland were ranked 131st. Today they’re ranked 34th and received a hero’s welcome in Reykjavik upon their return from Euro 2016 where they made their major tournament debut, scored in every game, and made it to the quarter finals. Football legends through and through, these 23 men from a country with a population of 323,000 won the hearts of millions around the world.

Daniel Agger retires from football at the age of 31. He made 232 appearances for Liverpool before moving to his childhood/youth club Brondby.
