[Hello! I thought I should post a little life update, in case any of you are still following me!

I upped and moved from the UK to Singapore two months ago, so that’s where I’m living now. I got head-hunted by a start-up company for lots of money, so here I am! Plus brexit sucks, so yeah. I don’t think my stay here will be permanent for various reasons, mostly because I’d like to head back to NZ at some point.

There is so much gunpla here!!! And it’s cheap! I bought gundam markers the other day and will start to actually make my gunpla look nice.

I am rarely on tumblr these days on any of my accounts, but I’m quite active on twitter. My public (ostensibly multifandom, but mostly Star Wars) account is @ asstromechdroid. Warning for some NSFW content on there! If any of you are on twitter, let me know. I’d love to follow you there!]

[Hi everyone! Long time no see. I’m really sad about what’s going on with tumblr. Even though this blog doesn’t have explicit content, I get the impression that tumblr is a sinking ship and that the whole thing will go bust. I’m trying to export this blog because it’s still really important to me even though I’m not active here anymore. I spent so long meticulously organising everything and I treasure all the RP threads with you guys. I don’t want to see it all go!

In the case of sudden tumblr disappearance, you can find me on pillowfort as routine-atrocities. I also have two original writer twitters with two pseudonyms. There’s RubyPopsicle for my romance writing (actual book coming soon!) and SpaceUnami for original sci-fi and fantasy writing. Gotta keep the genres separate! [Hello everyone! This blog is inactive now, as you all can see. However, with new Gundam 00 content on the horizon, that may change! We shall see.

As for what I’ve been doing, I’m still very involved in the Star Wars fandom and writing a lot of fanfic. I’ve also branched into original writing and have recently signed a contract for a novel! The first draft is done, and if things proceed speedily from here, it will be out by the end of the year. It’s a gay romance (explicit, ooh lala). If that’s your jam, you can follow my very new author twitter account @ RubyPopsicle.

I still have my science day job in the same place, but maybe this whole writing thing is going to take off one day.]

Hello everyone! Long time no see! I’m still basically on hiatus from this blog because of Star Wars. However, I’m going to MCM expo in London next weekend, and on the Friday, I’m planning to cosplay Setsuna in the season 2 flight suit.

I don’t know if any of you are UK based or will be there, but if you are, do say hello if you see me!

On Saturday, I’ll be cosplaying Matt the radar technician, and Sunday I’m part of a group Knights of Ren cosplay. You’re most welcome to say hi if you see me then too!

So I’m going to make a real effort to get back into RP. I have a backlog of asks, and I’ll try to get to most of them, but no promises! If we have threads together, I will endeavor to reply. If you’re not into the thread anymore, it’s totally fine to drop it! If there is a thread you desperately want to continue, but I haven’t replied yet, it’s probably in my drafts. Feel free to pester me about it though!

I should attempt to do some blog organisation, but I have a backlog of other projects (mostly fanfic) that I need to get through first, and working 10 hours a day helps none of that D-:

If you have joined me recently, I have other RP blogs too. Feel free to interact with Patrick Colasour (@ace-of-the-aeu), also from Gundam 00, and Seijuro Hiko (@better-at-everything-hiko) with anything at any time. I RP Setsuna as a slightly crack version of the muse, but I’ll also do serious stuff. I also have a gender-bent Kylo Ren (@heart-of-black-and-red) from The Force Awakens, with whom I am only interested in doing specific sorts of threads (more serious than my usual), so if you are interested, please message me about it so we can talk first.

If you’re an RP blog (particularly Gundam) and you’ve followed me recently, but I haven’t followed you back, it’s nothing against you. I’ve been neglectful of this blog for the last few months. Gundam 00 Week Prompt: Alternate Universe

You can blame @atomicpomegranate/ @setsunafreakinseiei for this. She’s the one who pointed out to me that AU day coincided with Star Wars Day. So, have our three main quantum brainwave Force users.

There are a lot of ideas floating around there as to how the Force works, but the one I subscribe to is that the Light Side and the Dark Side are purely ideological constructs - the Force itself is not a dual-sided phenomenon, or a continuum, but more like an ocean; the deeper one goes, the more difficult it is to handle. The Light Side is composed of those who believe the best way to handle the Force is to master it, and never reach for more power than they can absolutely control. The Dark Side is those who believe the best way to make use of it is to reach as far as they can, using every possible angle they have, for as much raw power as they can obtain. Thus, a Dark Side Force user will have more raw power, but a Light Side Force user will be more efficient in using that power.

Using that school of thought: - Tieria starts off as far Light Side as they come. For better, or for worse…or for much worse. But, later on, some say he seems to have managed to become grey Jedi… - Allelujah and Hallelujah are an interesting case - they share one body but are on opposite sides of the spectrum in combat ideology. Allelujah is calm, collected, and restrained - Light Side - Hallelujah fights with all the power he can wring from every last drop of sheer berserker rage and survival drive he can muster - Dark Side. The black lining of his robes is something he uses to reflect this. - …so much of the TFA side of the fandom wants Kylo Ren to get a redemption arc - I want to see the story play out no matter what direction it goes in canon, but if he DOES get that redemption arc, I can’t help but think…we’d basically have an older version of Setsuna on our hands.

These will be cleaned up and colored later.

Gundam 00 Week, Day 4: AU

@setsunafreakinseiei mentioned that AU day of 00 Week was on May the Fourth (Star Wars Day), and I couldn’t get that out of my head. So please enjoy this TFA AU.

Saji was walking home from the store, groceries cradled in his arms, when he heard the voice. It was deeper than he remembered, but the timbre was achingly familiar from his childhood, such as it was. SR-125627 had been his friend once, and he’d know that voice anywhere. He turned to see a figure standing behind him. A man, around his height, maybe a little smaller, wearing a heavy black cloak over dark, dark clothes. But he knew that stance, those locks of wild hair that peeked out from under his hood, the line of his jaw, the set of his lips… He knew those all by heart.

“Setsuna…” Saji breathed, the name slipping past his lips involuntarily.
