@vgperson / vgperson.tumblr.com

Hi! I'm Katelyn (she/her), but you can call me vg, vgperson, or vghime. I'm the popularly-elected Princess of Vocaloid and a prolific translator of Japanese. This blog is primarily about translated content, but if there's no source and it doesn't look like it's a translation of something, I probably made it myself. (An "#original ___" tag is a guarantee that it's, well, original.) Feel free to ask me questions via Tumblr. Or you can send an email to vghimmel at gmail dot com. Donate to the Royal Treasury (Not Really A Real Treasury) Common Tags #2ch - Translated threads from Japanese message board 2ch. #original stories - Short stories I wrote. Also viewable by series here. #original music - Music I made in PXtone. A Kenshi Yonezu interview with Billboard Japan about Bye Now, See You Someday!, the challenges of the morning, consulting with women about their experiences, and the benefits of running away.

(Note that a chunk in the middle of this interview weirdly overlaps with the Natalie.mu one I translated previously, saying the same things with minor changes in wording at best, but the rest is new.)

Vocaloid Highlights: November 2023

If you're making the ultimate trailer, you should hire a magical girl. (with someone else's money~)

This month had the Colorless Nameless Fest... II! People submitted songs anonymously with text-only videos, with the option to have their identity revealed after the event ended. Many also posted their songs with regular videos afterward. I've included names for authors that were revealed, but a good number remain anonymous.

There were 4870 songs in this Colorless Nameless Fest, and they were all made public at once. So while these highlights are significantly bigger than usual, there are still likely tons of good songs that I just didn't hear. You can browse through all the songs here.

(For many more songs that are still Worth Your Time, view all this month's highlights on my site!)

Vocaloid Highlights: August 2023

Am I a reed? Am I culture? No, I'm just teensy little me.

(Tumblr apparently limits posts to 100 links now, which I had to find out the annoying way. So for more songs that are still Worth Your Time, check this month's highlights on my site!)

Vocaloid Highlights: July 2023

In case you haven't noticed, I don't wanna meet. Have you ever seen me wake up without that stupid palm-tree hair? That's not normal. Highlights Archive

WARNING: This game contains plenty of death and blood, and deals with heavy subject matter. Discretion is strongly advised. (Content warnings can be found on my game page.)

Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- (Kimi ga Shine) is a negotiation/horror/adventure game by Nankidai made in RPG Maker MV, now available (though still incomplete) on Steam. (And yes, I’m the official English translator for it.)

Sara Chidouin returns home from school late one night to discover that something’s gone terribly wrong. When she comes to, she finds herself, her friend Joe, and 9 other people trapped in a mysterious place. Placed in life-and-death situations, they must come to an agreement about what they should do - and who should die.

As far as the main story goes, this release is largely the same as what was out already, aside from adding achievements; however, once completed, the final story part will come to Steam first.

Exclusive to this version is free DLC in the form of an external artbook with character profiles, and currently three “mini-episodes” focusing on various characters. (Nankidai would like to add more mini-episodes in the future.)

The Steam version has been updated with two new mini-episodes!
