So if I dont respond to you in 1 week, just check this page first, and if your Q is not there, just ask me again.

Sites That Prohibits Reprinting (Updated on Dec 31st 2014)

This post will be updated everytime there's new report about sites that prohibits reprinting:

So I guess whenever I stated 'Pixiv' in my post, you can also replace it with all sites that I listed here on my blogs page. (Because I think it's too awkward to list too many sites in every sentence OTL)

If you know any other sites that prohibits reprinting and isnt already on that list, please just shoot me an ask and I'll update the list ASAP! Thank you! ^^

3. Deviantart

I've just read on DA's ToS this line:

You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, or prepare derivative works based on any of the Content including any such works without the express, written consent of DeviantArt or the appropriate owner of copyright in such works.

And though DA has 'share on Tumblr' button, it doesnt mean you can click that without the artist consent. Please read this to know the risk of doing so.

"It doesn’t matter that I used the source link correctly. It doesn’t matter that the site I sourced has a “Share on Tumblr” button. It doesn’t matter that the images still exist on another site. Tumblr was told that they were in violation, Tumblr had to react, and I paid for it because technically I had no right to share the images."

2. Tegaki.pipa.jp

Actually I've received this report a few times, and I've consulted with a tumblr user that's fluent in japanese, and this is the user reply:

There is nothing on the Tegaki site that overtly prohibits reprinting works from the site; however, it is a courtesy to the artist and the responsibility of the reprinter to acquire permission. Not doing so would violate the clause in the ToS that states “Doing anything that is inappropriate and out of courtesy is not allowed”.

So I guess, Tegaki also prohibits reprinting without permission (even though it's implied, and not explicit like pixiv ToS)

1. Drawr

Soo, it seems that I received few Qs about Drawr.

And yes, you can check their ToS here and translate it to english, and you can see that Drawr also prohibits reprinting just like pixiv. 

This is taken from Drawr ToS that's translated to English:

Embedding is not the same as Reprinting

I think this is important because maybe many of those illegal pixiv reposters think what they're doing is right because there's a 'share' link on the pixiv image, and what they do is basically the same as using the 'share' link. But unfortunately, it's wrong because the 'share' / embedding function is not the same as 'reposting/reprinting'.

I know this is a really long post. But if you're a poster/reblogger/liker of pixiv arts, please, please, just please read ALL of this post.

It lists all of questions that may pop on your head regarding this 'asking pixiv artists for reposting' habit, and my answer to those questions. I really hope I can influence you to support that habit on tumblr.
