ANTI-AI (Is it really an issue?)
I am aware that much has been said about this issue, accusations have been made and little action has been taken but the community is doing its part. What is important is that it should not be confused that we, the artists, are against technology, but in favor of our rights.
I am aware that much has been said about this issue, accusations have been made and little action has been taken but the community is doing its part. What is important is that it should not be confused that we, the artists, are against technology, but in favor of our rights. I don’t mind if people want to experiment with this kind of technology and use it as entertainment, I encourage it in fact as it can be beneficial to express and exercise one’s creativity. HOWEVER, to exploit it and use this as a way to make money is a BIG NO-NO!
My fear is that in the future, artists will struggle to sell their work in a market flooded with AI-generated pieces. Decrease the demand for real artists, leading to job displacement and a reduction in opportunities for artists to earn a livelihood from their work.
We know and it has never been a secret that the ai art engines take references from the web to create these pieces. So it is not too much to ask that these artists be compensated for this, is it? To compensate the real creators of the content and the material involved in the production of these pieces is not an absurd thing to ask. PAY THE ARTISTS THEIR DUE. We are already exploited and undervalued in the market today, and to add this problem to the list is outrageous!
AI art has the potential to undermine real artists by creating unjust competition, leading to a BIG job displacement worldwide, and devaluing human-made art. What about ethical questions about ownership and compensation for our efforts? It’s theft and we will not give up.
