It's been a somewhat dry spell news-wise what with all the goings on in Takarazuka, but we finally have our next generation of Hanagumi top stars. Congrats Towaki Sea and Hoshizora Misaki!

Long time no translations! It's been a busy year but I finally found the time to finish an interview that I really really love, I hope you are able to understand more about Rei with this sweet Q&A! ZuCasino is a current segment in Takarazuka Graph magazine where prominent otokoyaku get interviewed via a series of casino-style games and questions. October was with Yuzuka Rei. I've tried something a little different this time around where the first time an actress's name is mentioned I link her takawiki page. I've also done translation notes as I go rather than putting them all at the end. Let me know if you find this helpful or just too much. Without further ado, enjoy!
Recently it seems that a lot of new people have found their way to Takarazuka, which I remember as being kind of overwhelming. So first of all: Hi! Welcome! Hope you enjoy the musicals and like the glitter!
Second of all, I know this fandom can be very different, a little bit (sometimes a lot) confusing, and definitely overwhelming, so I thought it might be helpful to make a bit of an introduction post, for if you’ve mostly seen memes or clips. So with that, here we are!
So You’re New to Takarazuka, what do you need to know?
Here’s a lil overview of some of the places you can get zuka discs/merch The TCA website https://www.tca-pictures.net/ This one is tricky, because not everyone can order stuff from here from overseas, so I might actually reccomend using another place. I know some people have managed, but this one is uncertain. You need to make an account and have a creditcard that gets accepted, but it is the most ‘direct’ way to order stuff so if you are in a place where thats possible/easy/they can ship stuff to you, it might be worth it!
CDJapan https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ search for 宝塚 on CDJapan and you’ll find a bunch of shows, cds, and some books, programs and calendars. As a European I’ve found this service very reliable and you can use paypal or creditcards to pay. You should check their currently available shipment options though, because the Plague has had some effects on shipping from Japan (but this does go for all others too).
Taka-an https://www.takarazuka-an.co.jp/orderform/en/ Taka-an is a takarazuka specialised store that sells both new and secondhand products. Take care Their available stuff changes relatively regularly, but they have an english webpage and allow credit card payment. You have to contact them by email and they deliver via EMS.
Mandarake https://www.mandarake.co.jp/ I’ve never personally bought something from them through their online shop, but mandarake carries a lot of second hand takarazuka material. They don’t always have a lot available online, but if you check back occasionally you might find something you like! You can simply type “takarazuka” in the english-language search function.
Amazon Japan https://www.amazon.co.jp/ If you go to Amazon JP and type in 宝塚, you’ll find a bunch of takarazuka material. I don’t enjoy directing anyone to this website, and I don’t use it myself, but it is an option if you want to get things. Because I don’t personally use this I couldn’t tell you how exactly the payment methods for this work, but I know it is commonly used by people trying to order takarazuka from abroad. Proxy Services If you want to get something that isn’t available through one of these options, there are a number of proxy services that can shop for you in Japan around online that you could look into! I don’t have links for these, but you can google around a bit. If I forgot anything, please someone add these. I know that you can also order stuff like music through japanese itunes, but I’m not super familliar with any of those options since I tend to prefer physical cds, but if any of you in the tags know more how this works and are willing to explain it, please feel free to do so!!
For music I know that Mora.jp has a lot of Takarazuka music and has about the same library that JP itunes does. If you set up a Rakuten account you can use that same account for Mora as well. The only thing is you would need a VPN to access both of these sites. Mora you can use any VPN from my understanding. I use ExpressVPN and have had no issues getting music. I find Mora easier to set up than JP itunes too since if you switch back to the store of your country you sometimes have trouble getting back to the JP store. Mora you don’t have to deal with that at all.

Sorry if this is last minute, I meant to post about this earlier but I will be streaming Dance Olympia at 1pm EST today (so in less than 3 hours from this message). I will post a link about 30 mins from the start time. For anyone not familiar, Dance Olympia is the debut show for Top Stars Yuzuka Rei and Hana Yuuki. The first act is kiiiiiind of plotted but it’s actually really fun and has much dancing involved. The second act is basically a Very Intense version of a revue.
