“Get dressed, darlin’.” Stuart tosses 2D’s suit jacket into his lap. “We’re goin’ out tonight.”
2D puts down his game controller and tilts his head, taking in Stuart’s white button up and black slacks with amused bemusement. “Where?”
“It’s a surprise.” Stuart grins. “It’s fancy, though. And wear comfortable shoes. Nice ones.”
“Wot about Parker?”
“Noodle!” Stuart says over his shoulder as he goes to fetch his dress shoes. “It’s all worked out. Tonight’s for us, bluebird.”
An hour later, with Parker safely delivered to her aunt’s, Stuart pulls up to a nondescript building outside London. There’s a cool breeze in the air; it’s just about dusk, and the sky is a deep purple-tinged blue.
Stuart parks and opens 2D’s door for him. “Ready?”
“I still don’t know where we are…” 2D takes the hand offered to him.
He grins, and leads him to the door of the building. “You’ll find out.”
As Stuart opens the door, a swell of music pours out. 2D’s eyes quickly adjust to the lighting, and an incredulous smile spreads across his face.
M!A! 2D has Angel wings for a week
The peaceful stillness of the afternoon is interrupted by a loud, shrill shriek from 2D as two long white wings erupt from his shoulders. Their span is long enough to knock a speaker off from their TV table, sending it crashing to the ground. Parker starts crying, startled by the series of loud noises.
Stuart scoops her up, staring open-mouthed at his husband. “2D, are you okay?!”
“W-wot the ‘ell?” He spins, trying to get a good look at his wings, and topples a lamp in the process. “I’m– I’m fine, I fink...but I’ve got feathers!”
