AA and durg/Tav being the most bitchy couple in faerun, is so so funny to me, they don’t even have to say any mean thoughts out loud (psychic bond) but they do it for the love of the sport!

when do we think astarion realized his "nice simple plan" was starting to fall apart? personally i think it was when tav draws/translates his scars. his face when you tell him you want to help and as he's turning around is just so confused and wary because he's so unused to kindness.
I think his first inkling it’s all falling apart is when he’s throwing “all his favorite lines” at you. He says “I love you” as a line but I think verbalizing it, even with the intent of just using the line on you, it strikes a cord somewhere deep inside him. For once, he doubts the lie.
Does he love you? Is he lying?
And then you tease him back and that fear within him eases.
“You’re having fun, aren’t you?” You poke at him.
He lets his guard down thinking that he’s got you hooked.
“I am… it’s hard not to with you.” He says, his tone just a tad softer than normal. More genuine.
Joke’s on him - you’ve got him hooked.
#none of these moments for Efenity...theyre too soon#Efe never trusted him and only wanted to sleep around and enjoy it with the threat of dreath looming. she wasnt aiming for love#for efe's canon all of those moments were small drops adding up to something greater.#because for the most part they were just surviving and having some 'fun' along the way#but for Efe's narrative i think the real moment was how she treated the Thorms#and the final nails were killing yorgir and how she handled the Harpers and moonrise#all events happening right before she usually gets his alt confession scene#he could see the passion she had for him and the way she utilizes her skillset to get what she wants...#through most of act 1 she was focused on using that skillset for herself alone but through act2#he can see just how much she now includes him (and SH to a degree) into that inner bubble#he realized that that was her way of showing love#imcluding him (and sometimes SH) to benefit on the manipulations and negotiations she previously used for her own benefit exclusively.#she was no longer doing it out of duty for allies#she was doing ot out of care and love for their wellbeing#especially for Astarion#and he could clearly see this
