A message to Jinkx Monsoon: Arab queers need help.

I know you’re the most socially aware drag queen that I know of and you’re my fave so I really hope you reblog this and help spread the word.

In 2016, Arab queers are still being executed, jailed, abused, and disowned  simply because of their sexuality. 

It’s illegal to be anything but straight and cis in most, if not all, Arab and/or Muslim countries.

It’s not religion that’s abusing us.

It’s governments and ignorance. 

I feel that the world just needs to know about the suffering of the LGBTQ+ communities in these countries so that change can happen. 

Many people in the west are so consumed by the idea that Arabs and/or Muslims are a bunch of “backward terrorists”, and that’s why no gay activist ever gives a crap about us. But we exist. We’re queer and we need your help now more than ever.

This can’t keep happening. 

It hurts my heart that countries like the UK and the US are best friends with the Saudi government, for example, while the latter literally just released a new law that leads to the execution of ANYONE who comes out as gay ONLINE. They are literally monitoring the web atm. 

i’m not Saudi but things in my country are not that different. 

I currently live in London so I’m using this blog to bring attention to Arab queers. 

All we want is for the world to help us.
