Being online I get compliments daily, & it’s truly a blessing but Ive also come to see the downside of the social world. I’ve said this before but doesn’t hurt to remind you. I’ll say to you all what I’ll say to my future daughter: “SEE YOUR BEAUTY, WITHOUT A COMPLIMENT, OR A MIRROR. MIRRORS ONLY SHOW US WHAT WE LOOK LIKE, NOT WHO WE ARE.” As women & sometimes men, we focus a lot on our exterior & compare our behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel on social media. Many of us don’t stop to see the reality. Reality is… You only see my good pictures, good days, my smiles, my good looking model husband & beautiful child. You cant compare what you’re experiencing daily, with an online world of perfection. Celebrities online, makeup gurus, online personalities, myself and others… We all go through crappy moments you never witness. Be a realist, ask yourself “when do you ever feel like 💩 then post it for the world to see”? NEVER. Who wants to takes a picture when their sad and going through personal issues? Not me. Just remember that. (at Youtube.com/SunKissAlba)

"There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect. There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair. My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough. To me locs are a symbol of strength and beauty, almost like a lion’s mane.”
