the parallel at the end of felix amica between the shot of felix and oliver talking and the shot of annabel and blond chirpsing guy talking drives me crazy. it indicates that both couples are essentially having the same type of interaction. they’re playing a game, between the 2 of them and between the 4 of them, to see who will finally make a move. blond guy wants annabel. annabel wants felix. who does felix want?

blond guy and felix are both the pursuer based on their body language, leaning in and touching their couch partner. blond guy is putting the ball in annabel’s court. felix is putting the ball in ollie’s court. the outcome of everyone’s game doesn’t actually depend on felix! it depends on oliver!!!

oliver fumbled this one so bad with the eenie meenie idea. it’s so appropriate for him to end the felix amica montage, where his crush on felix blossoms, with this wake-up call that felix is still always gonna go off and sleep with girls. but there’s way more to it than that. and i think he realizes that he was the one who fumbled this looking back, he might have even realized it the moment that felix kissed him goodbye on the cheek. “you’re out, boy scout,” guess it’s another girl whose ass ill slap
