Near death, if we are so lucky, we lie face up, absorbing into our lungs the stagnate air of rooms filled with the wet of mourning. Take notice.

Miles - Lost/Found

my nails grow faster when i’m writing. Ive changed my eating habits, waking habits, walking habits, seeing habits, sitting habits, coffee stirring habits, breathing habits, listening habits, bathing habits, flossing habits, napkin folding habits, I’ve even changed the position of my steering wheel, the rhythm of the wiper blades, the presets on the radio buttons, the side of the street that I park the car on, the length of time I allow for the car to idle before shifting between drive and park to get out of the paralleled parking spot, I’ve even ever so slightly rotated all of the plants, alphabetized all my books and color coordinated their spines, moved all of my shelves down 3 inches and postioned them in an alternating pattern, i’ve changed the sheets daily, purchased new pillows, better insoles, fresh kleenex, new pots and new pans with the correct corresponding lids, and still I am not quite sure, but suspect that it is because

Family Say - Black Earth

When did the trees learn to quiet themselves for a season? The sun still warms, a promise that during some mornings feels more like a taunt. But I can hear it’s promise. Still, the familiar smell that is carried by this bitter cold tints it with taunt. Unresolved or unrequited or two of the above.
