Calling all traitorous clods!

I’m organizing the first ( To my knowledge, anyway) Peridot centric fanzine, based on the character from the hugely popular Cartoon Network series ‘Steven Universe’, as created by the wonderfully talented Rebecca Sugar! As an avid fan of the alternatively ominous triangle at the end of the bed, or angry little slice of pie alike, I’m very excited to be putting this project together!

Founded by myself, Cake (birthdaycakesandbattlestations) and my friend Axel (dolly-button).

What I need right now? Artist sign ups! Don’t make pieces yet, of course, because I’m still in the process of pinpointing printers, but the ultimate goal, of course, is to produce a colourful, glossy paged soft cover book for all fans of this lime green Gem to enjoy! Artists will be given a copy of the finished product, and I will be releasing pre-orders when size and cost of the book is determined!

Now that the logistics are down pat, email me at @ kritchie1780@yahoo.com! Please provide your name, your tumblr url, and a means for me to take a look at any past art you’ve created! It doesn’t have to be exclusively of Peridot, and even artists that have yet to take a crack at the SU style are welcome to apply! Please note that all art will be kept PG, as per the general spirit of the show, as would anything implicitly ship related, but drawing Peridot with other Gem’s is certainly okay!  

Let’s get this robonoid rolling, shall we?

A wild proof appears!

Weeell, our printer felt rather guilty about giving us the run around for so long, and rightly so, and they sent a sample overnight to us yesterday!

Have some sneak peeks! The book looks really, really, really good. The pages are a nice heavy glossy paper, the book as a whole feels pleasantly weighty, and it’s FULL OF ALL THIS COOL ART.

It looks fiendishly good in person, I can not even believe. There’s a few things that need to be fixed (one page is blank which should not be, as an example) and then I do believe we’ll be ready to drive straight into printing. :3

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well.

I just got off the phone with the printer, trying to find out where our proof is. As it turns out, there's been some internal restructuring within the company and our project somehow fell through the cracks, and in the process lost our files, didn't mention that they'd lost our files, meaning that they haven't even started on the proof.

Ugh.

It's okay, I have backups of everything, and I'm working with them TONIGHT to fix this nonsense. I'll keep you all updated.

Hi everyone! Not a whole lot of new things to talk about. I’ve been in touch with the printer, as recently as today, who had an unexplained delay regarding the proof. I will be on their asses about this, don’t worry. I wanna see this book done just as much as you!

Together Breakfast: Tiny Update!

Hi everybody! Sorry about the bit of radio silence there. We’ve been busy getting a hard proof ready, fixing files that didn’t print properly, all that good stuff. The printer is sending us that proof soon, and after that’s approved, then we can get to printing everyone’s copies and sending them out. :D

Hey everybody! A teeny update today, just to let you know where we are!

So like I said last time, the step after preorders are done (thaaankkk yooouuuuuu!) is PRINTING, yay! i sent all the files off to the printer very shortly after preorders closed, so at the moment they’re working on getting a proof put together. Thanks for your patience!

(Garnet is not entirely convinced of the merits of putting popcorn and whipped cream together in any capacity, thx so much to Katie Better for the art!)
