“I felt like if I’m going to go missing for two years and go off on tour then I’ve got to come back and make some noise. I’m ready to get back because there’s only so much golf you can play. I find myself watching these award shows now and think, ‘Why am I not up there?’ I feel like it’s a good time so I’m excited to get back.”

“I wrote the album in about a seven month period. It’s mad that I started this in the last couple of weeks of October. I’ve written about 50 or 60 songs for this and I’ve whittled it down to about 17 or 18. Then I can make final decisions about what are going to make the record.”

“I spoke to [Liam] a couple days after his birthday actually. I’m not going to lie, I was actually really busy on the day, I missed his birthday but to be fair to Liam, he’s proper sound. I just rang him the next day, explained and he was cool, and Liam’s probably the one I’ve spoken to most recently before his birthday. I’ve been chatting to him a bit on the phone when I’ve had some time in LA and I’ve been getting up proper jetlagged, so I give Liam a ring just to catch up with him. I saw Niall at Glastonbury. I’ve not seen Harry for a while but I’ve been in contact with him, you know, recently so - it’s proper nice. Proper nice.”
