        he’s succeeded in causing discomfort, if the other’s body language is anything to go by. though this isn’t necessarily a good thing. it conflicts with his desire to stay incognito, to stay unbothered; but apparently, his need for antagonism outweighs his need for alcohol.

             ‘ no-one important. but i guess who i am ain’t what’s really botherin’ ya. ’

                The REJECTION never really hurt any less each time he pleaded with Dean… and yet, Castiel still hadn’t learnt his lesson. He always guaranteed himself that it’d be the last time; that he would accept that his allegiance with the man was as dead as Cain… but then he’d get THINKING. He’d find himself ticking over potential cures without even meaning to, and all at once hope would be kindled and the cycle would go on. 

                This part was the worst.

                He’d forgotten just how paralyzing the feeling was. It was like a VICE was gripping his chest; gripping his throat— except the vice was on fire because his eyes were burning too, and his blood was aboil. He was a mess of sadness and anger and his protective veil of ANGELIC cool ripped open. The anger— white hot— was the first to come flooding out. The sadness, he’d save for later. He did not need to be ridiculed while he cried.

                 The voice in his ears was FOREIGN; too collected, and it left him feeling like he was hovering above his body… like he was no longer at the wheel. The loss of control was both terrifying and exciting as he stepped forward with conviction he didn’t know he had. 

                               ❛  You will LET me help you, Dean Winchester— or you will FIGHT me, you will lose, and I will deliver you the cure by force as you lie crippled on the floor.  ❜  The breath Castiel gulped down hitched a little, and it seemed that the VIOLENT confidence was gone as quickly as it hit.

        the confidence shocks him briefly, the sheer weight of castiel’s words throwing him for a slight loop, because there’s determination there. there’s a promise of violence, of a quick, swift retribution if he doesn’t do exactly as the angel wants. which, of course, he’s not going to, because he's almost certain that nothing’s going to happen if he doesn’t do as he’s told. and if the angel can put forth a façade of confidence, then the demon can do the same.

                ‘ what gets me is how you think you can. ’

        he advances, heavy-booted feet causing echoes on concrete that reverberate with a sense of foreboding. measured steps are taken slowly, menacingly, until the distance between them becomes close enough that one of them could easily reach out to grab the other. but he doesn’t - not yet, at the very least - just draws himself up to his full height.

               ‘ you think i don’t know you’re weak? not just your body, but in here— ’  a finger taps against his temple.  ‘ you ain’t gonna do shit, ‘cause we’ve been here before, an’ you did nothin’ but take every blow i gave ya. an’ now i’m stronger, there’s every chance that you ain’t gonna walk outta this alive. ’ it’s a lie; he’s nowhere near strong enough to destroy an angel, but again, confidence outweighs truth. 

               ‘ you wanna try an’ tell me what t’do, you go right ahead. we’ll see how far it gets ya. but if you wanna maybe talk about makin’ a deal, then i might start gettin’ interested. you want me t’do what you want, then you gotta do somethin’ for me first. ’

Supernatural 30 days challenge - Day 16: Favorite Demon

Demon Dean

  HIS CASTLE. HIS THRONE. what was rightfully his, insofar   as he concerned himself, was now within his grasp; and with   a grip like iron, he would hold fast to it all. never again would   he find himself resigned to a life of servitude, ranked beneath   a ruler that proved to be little        more than a temperamental   child —– for, from this point on, he would rule,  and he would   rule well. hell’s potential would be fully realized. hell would be   made to run smoothly. properly. a model of efficiency, just as   he himself was. those that betrayed him suffered         ( some   served as examples to the    rest of the demonic flock he now   shepherded, while others  served as guinea pigs for his latest   innovations in torture ),   while those that pledged loyalty were   kept close —– watchfully so.      he would not make the same   mistakes that lucifer and lilith had.         the throne belonged to   crowley now, and it would REMAIN as such. 

  complications would be dealt with accordingly. ‘least, that was   the mindset prior to the future demon’s arrival.         having the   other stand before him now      threw the current king for a loop,   to say the very least; initially,    he’d thought the other to be the   loathsome hunter that he ( occasionally ) consorted with,    but   the pitch-black eyes that stared   into his own immediately told   him otherwise. this was dean, in that this was his body,   but he   was inhabited by something darker. a DEMON.         he’d been   possessed. 

  and from the sound of it, he’d been looking for him.      there’s a   pause on crowley’s end ( uncertain in nature,     if dean cared to   squint; he’s not sure what to make of the scenario at-hand, for a   variety of reasons ), but eventually, his lips part to respond. he’ll   rise from his seat so as to approach the other as he speaks.

     ❛  i’ll say. only question is ——— who’s ‘we’, exactly?  ❜

    at the mention of the protective tattoo that adorns the former hunter’s chest, fingers clutch at layers of clothing to pull them aside and reveal that, yes, the JET BLACK ink does in fact still reside on slightly tanned skin. which means possession is definitely off of the table.

              ‘ you mean this? ’

    clothing falls back into place as he releases it, and BLACK scleras fade back to a soft green; although soft is an operative word, because the look in dean’s eyes is anything but that. it’s more of a hard stare, a non-verbal challenge that holds a warning not to test his patience. he’s here for business, not for idle chit-chat. small talk is not welcome here, and he doesn’t have time for STUPID questions like the ones he’s being presented with right now.

        ‘ who does it look like you’re talkin’ to? figured if you’re s’posed t’be runnin’ HELL, you’d at least have enough brains in ya head t’figure out that i ain’t one’a your lackeys walkin’ around in a stolen meatsuit. but if we need t’keep things simple for ya, how ‘bout we just start out with you callin’ me dean. ’

    he uses his size to his advantage, straightening up to his full six foot one height, practically towering over the other DEMON. but it’s not just his height that makes him seem imposing; it’s the way he carries himself, the way he seems so sure that he’s the one who should be in charge here, not the DEMON stood before him. 

                which brings him to his next point.

         ‘ i got a business proposal for ya. ’ 

        what he doesn’t mention, is that he doesn’t plan on taking ‘no’ for an answer.
