It’s April 14th and All the Rage is officially out. #ToTheGirls will launch when the sun comes up (or maybe it’s already light out when you’re reading this or maybe it’s days later and it already happened) and I’m typing this on the antique desk my father got me years ago at an auction. He decided I had to have it and so I have it and do I ever miss him when I release a new book. I wrote All the Rage at this desk. (Dad, it’s a hardcover! I wish you could see it!) On top of the desk sit all of my books. I like to keep them in sight because sometimes when you are working on something new, it can get impossible. You need the reminder that you’ve seen a story to its end before.
All the Rage is one of the most impossible books I’ve ever written. Last April, I had just handed it in and not long after talked about how hard it was to get to paper. It pushed me past my limits and in all my days of working on it, I didn’t believe I would finish it. But when I did finally finish it, I felt like it couldn’t have gone any other way–or more importantly, that I wouldn’t want it to because I learned so much and I am so proud of this novel. It means so much to me to finally be able to to let it go and give it to its readers. And I hope it finds its readers. And I hope they find it worth their time.
So many people have seen All the Rage to its release. Thank you to everyone who has been part of its publication journey–family, friends, readers, my agent amytipton and editor, Sara Goodman, the wonderful team at griffinteen, the reblogbookclub, everyone who celebrated its announcement and has anticipated and enthusiastically championed Romy’s story–I’m more grateful than I can say for your readership and support.
