When we gave him the ‘tsundere’ archetype, we began to ponder amongst ourselves: “Isn’t the ‘dere’ part unnecessary for a Do-S?” We wanted to add in a little bit of ‘yandere’ as well, and that’s how he became a ‘tsuntsunyan’. Kanato’s infamous fake tears were also planned from the very beginning. His character design is rather extreme, but we managed to convince the doubtful Satoi, pushing our case by saying: “Let’s make those dark circles even bigger!”

The dark circles underneath his eyes and troubled expression are his special features. The dark circles and his pale complexion are just too scary, so I tried to at least make him a little cute by making him petite and drawing his eyes large. I also added an eye-patch to the teddy bear, giving him a mysterious vibe.
