It's real frustrating how little psychology/psychiatry as a field seems to want to discuss societal factors in inducing mental illness. Like everyone talks about anxiety as being your fight or flight response responding to minor deadlines as it would a large predator, which is a step up in discourse from "this is perfectly fine" or "you're just neurotic" but it seems like it's rare for anyone, even psychologists, to question why it would end up confusing these two things.

Could it be because in our capitalist horror show the ability to live and not die from preventable diseases rests in the arbitrary judgement of private entities whose main focus is ripping off people for profit? Would a society like that maybe train people to panic over minor things because in some cases those minor things are the difference between having or not having a job which is life or death for a lot of people?

Do you think that maybe the world's largest religion telling people they will be tortured for eternity for not obeying an arbitrary rule might cause them to be anxiety ridden over the fear of doing anything wrong?

Nah let's just blame genetics and a very small number of family and social connections.
