I just don’t fully feel like a lot of Black kids feel like they deserve to capitalize on their creativity meanwhile a lot of white kids grow up feeling entitled to and they’re not even doing shit. So many Black kids grow up feeling like they can share their jokes and their art and style but don’t have the opportunities to make money from them. and they’re discouraged from doing it because it’s unrealistic to be creative as a career, but exponentially more unrealistic when you’re Black here. So many creative Black kids are so incredibly funny and quick witted, and good at editing, amazing at art, good at making music but also projecting the success of music and fashion etc. and they don’t feel like they can put energy or time into it enough to obtain a career out of it. and I am not blaming them at all, I completely understand why but like I want them to feel entitled to it and I want them to grab these opportunities and take them or for someone else Black to create these opportunities for these kids. And I’m thankful for the Black people already creating opportunities and outlets and platforms for these kids

A few years ago, I taught a Year 2 class in East London. I had built up a good bank of multicultural picture-books and resources and shared these with the class whenever seemed appropriate. When it came time for the class to write their own stories, I suggested that they used the name of someone in their family for their protagonist. I wanted them to draw on their own backgrounds, but was worried about ‘making an issue of race’. When it came to sharing their stories, I noticed only one boy had acted upon my suggestion, naming his main character after his uncle. He had recently arrived from Nigeria and was eager to read his story to the class. However when he read out the protagonists name he was interrupted by another boy, who was born in Britain and identified as Congolese. “You can’t do that! Stories have to be about White people.” I’m confident the boy who announced this was being sincere and indeed, in the ensuing class discussion there was a fair bit of uncertainty about who could and couldn’t be in stories. I was surprised and confused by this. Why did they always write stories about children from very different backgrounds to themselves? And why were these characters always White? After all, I had shared a number of stories about children of colour with the class. I just hadn’t realised what I was up against.

Hi Sister!! Thank you for asking me this. Nothing is wrong with Capitalism. Afrakans invented the concept of capitalism and economy. When yurugus got a hand of it they twisted it and made it savage just like them. Nothing is wrong with Capitalism until you start to kill and oppress and hurt people for money. That’s when shit hits the fan. That is what Europeans brought to this world…savage capitalism. That’s what we have now.

I hope that helps! I dunno if you can quote me for your school lol.

Ase!

Girl you really showed your ass with this one. Capitalism as an economic system and mode of production developed in Europe roughly in the 15th century and evolved from its predecessor feudalism. The appearance of capitalism coincides with the exploration of the “New World” in which competing European nations sought to amass resources (e.g. gold, sugar, cotton and tabacco) - resources whose production and extraction were dependent on heavy manual labor. This is why colonists at first attempted to enslave the indigenous populations which proved disastrous due to their lack of immunity to European diseases so they moved onto enslaving Africans and transporting them over to the Americas and putting them to work. Now, as a mode of production capitalism relies on the extraction of surplus value of workers- who do not own the means of production and subsist solely through exchanging their labor for wages - to derive profit. Capitalism also relies on the minimization of costs in order to derive as much profit as possible. This is what has led to many of the horrors associated with capitalism. Capitalists are motivated by profit and disregard the value of the lives of workers. “poc” capitalists can be and are just as bad as white capitalists.

You just said….. what I said….. yall really need to work on yalls reading comprehension skills. Yall dumb as shit.

No my babbling baboon of a friend you said capitalism bad cause white people touched it. I’m telling you capitalism is bad because it’s an exploitative system regardless of whether the capitalists are white or poc. Clearly your reading comprehension skills aren’t up to par.

LMAO @ “u said what i said”

This is why I’m deleting

It’s bad enough that Gazi posts his Afrakan crap, now he has delved into economic systems. Heaven help us. Spare us for the love of god. Spare us, I beg of you.

I genuinely want to know how someone can literally type up nonsense like “When yurugus got a hand of it they twisted it and made it savage just like them.” and not have people laugh them out of a room. How anyone can read that and still think the person who wrote that knows their ass from a hole in the ground is simply astonishing. My mind is blown away.

I’m an atheist, but I’m starting to believe that Gazi is an agent of shaytan. He was sent here to torture us. He took the form of an Afrakan Jinn. This is the only explanation.

I’m Tired of this Godzi dude kmtt
