Rose is An Action Movie Heroine

So many people focus on the romance side of this movie that nobody seems to ever talk about the fact that it’s also a disaster movie. Rose puts herself in danger to save Jack, goes looking for help, and frees him. Maybe she’s not some badass butch Sigourney Weaver in Alien type with a gun, but I’m tired of people pretending that just because Rose wears a dress for the entire climax that it somehow undercuts her worth of being included in the pantheon of action heroines. Her femininity doesn’t devalue her contributions to the disastrous circumstances she finds herself in. Rose proves herself to be clever, astute, brave, and defiant. The fact that she does all of this with long hair, a full face of make-up and a flowery dress is irrelevant to the worth of her actions.

Ok but give Willem Dafoe an Oscar for his performance in NWH. Guy reprised a role he played almost 20 years ago, and not only played the character to perfection, but actually made the character BETTER and more compelling than before?? King shit.

Why yes, I enjoy s1 of Korra and think the inter- bending conflict shifting to a bender vs non- bender one in a newly multicultural society is a brilliant and compelling writing choice.

Not to be a twilight stan on main but like....did Edward and Bella even do anything together?? Like the entire appeal of new moon is that Jacob and Bella are hanging out doing dumb teenager shit. I can't think of a single instance in any of the twilight books where Edward and Bella interacted while not a) angsting or b) lusting

having demi sing the higher melody with ariana singing a lower harmony???? UNEXPECTEDLY BRILLIANT

In regards to specifically the Dancing with the Devil music video: I just want to say, I know there are people accusing Demi of “exploiting” her OD and drug use.

First off, it’s her given right considering it’s her life, her story, and her near-death experience to share however she chooses. I personally don’t feel anything “exploitative” with these projects.

But even if she is, the one thing Demi absolutely isn’t doing is glamorizing that lifestyle or any of her past experiences. That video was brutal and extremely difficult to watch. It was nothing less than a slap to the face while the hand screams “don’t do this shit, it ain’t cute”.
