Honestly I’m on Ed’s side when it comes to throwing out Stede’s books and clothes.

Like, obviously Stede should be mad about the crew and Lucius, but at the end of the day, the books are just things.

Both because- 1) Ed had no way of knowing Stede would be back and 2) Stede wasn’t actually planning on coming back when he left (if Mary had accepted him, he might have stayed)

Friendly reminder that there’s an extremely violent and adult superhero comic where many terrible and morally ambiguous/questionable things happen and are incited by equally morally questionable/ambiguous main characters, BUT of all the dark things going on in this comic, the one thing that was treated with a surprising amount of respect and sweetness and care and sensitivity, almost in complete contrast to the frankly assholish tone of the entire comic, was their canonical gay superhero couple, who were the first mainstream superhero gay couple to ever get married in a comic

For all its flaws, I’m glad for this rep in The Authority and how they didn’t treat two gay men raising a daughter together as a joke or a homophobic morality tale. 

Especially given that these comics were published TWENTY YEARS AGO 

As an addition, the girl they’re raising represents the spirit of the 21st century. The Authority was deeply flawed in so many ways but I always really liked the hopefulness of that idea, that the future was being raised by the gays.
