Great turnout for The Adventure Zone gathering at Dragoncon 2017. Had @bubbleinspace as beach bod Merle, several other creative and impressive cosplays, including @zeowynda as Lup. Hope to see the same enthusiasm and attendance next year!

Going into a Waffle House late at night on a Saturday is always an almost surreal experience Because my friend and I was asked by the lady sitting next to is if we feared anything And then preceded to pulled a snake from her purse And it was honestly one of the most wild experiences of my life

Can confirm. This was the wildest Waffle House visit ever.

And then after the snake-petting and dinner we walked out and there was a guy dressed as a sea captain pacing the sidewalk while smoking a pipe, so that was the icing on the weird-cake.

So here’s the deal

Current Situation: President-Elect rotted pumpkin Trump has been pretty busy the last week. He’s been trying to appoint multiple racists, sexists, and xenophobes to Cabinet positions. He settled out of court in his Trump University case. He’s using his businesses to gain monetarily from his position. He’s refusing to put his businesses in a blind trust which will cause a conflict of interest.

And that’s not even everything.

And that’s just in the last week. It’s about to get a whole lot worse.

Current Plan of Action: There’s this great link to a Google Doc going around (and, if you haven’t seen it yet, here it is) that has scripts to follow and phone numbers to call about all the current issues. It’s absolutely fantastic and I encourage everyone to set it as their homepage because it’s extremely useful and very effective.

Current Problem: It’s literally too effective (if there is such a thing which honestly I don’t believe). All of the voicemail boxes of these assholes are full and I guarantee you they have no desire to empty them to allow the floodgates to open again. Because so many of us are calling to air their grievances, we’ve literally flooded them to a stopping point.

The Solution: They can’t stop letters.

Paul Ryan: Washington DC Office 1233 Longworth HOB Washington, D.C. 20515

Mitch McConnell: Washington DC Office 317 Russell Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510

Write to them. I want their offices to look like the end of Miracle on 34th Street. It doesn’t even have to be a particularly well worded letter. Here’s all you need to say:

I’m writing to you today because I am in strong opposition to the appointments of Steve Bannon, Jeff Sessions, And General Flynn.

I also believe that President-elect Trump is working within a conflict of interest by not releasing his financial records and continuing his business through his family instead of entrusting it in a blink trust. The fact that foreign leaders are already being pressured to stay at Trump branded hotels when they visit on official business also worries me greatly.

I would also like to implore you to keep the Affordable Care Act, as I and many others that I know rely on the laws that were put into effect for our continuing health coverage.

That’s it. That’s all you need to say. I don’t care if you have to scrawl it on a napkin in crayon or send it in on a potato, all I care about is that you write the letter and send it in

If they don’t want to hear our voices anymore, fine. But then they’re going to have to deal with our letters. And while Ryan and McConnell are definitely the big guys to go after, you should still continue to contact your local Senator’s and Representatives through phone lines, and then if they get full go ahead and find the address to their Washington DC office (or local office, whichever you prefer I just think sending a bunch of letters to Washington DC will really send a message) and send them a letter. Send five letters. Send  five letters and a potato. I don’t care. Just send them.

Don’t become complacent after only a week. Keep fighting!

Letters really do have an impact. Politicians know that it takes SERIOUSLY pissed off voters to spring for postage.

I’m not even kidding. And don’t stop with these guys. Hit your senators and your representative. Hit party leaders. Even if you’re a democrat–let them know what kind of tactics you’ll find acceptable. Do you want them to stonewall Trump the same way they stonewalled us for six years? Tell them that! Your reps want to know if you have their backs, if they decide to really throw themselves at opposing. Send letters to those leaders you do like. Kamala Harris singing a tune you like? Let her know! Let whoever becomes the head of the DNC know, too.  We just witnessed an outsider take over a historically leaderless party. This is a chance for the progressive wing to do the same thing, but for the cause of good. We’re at a turning point. But don’t let anyone fool you into thinking we don’t get a say. Our position sucks, frankly, but if it took Bush’s bungling to get us Obama, what might we be able to win if we can survive this?

IT IS TIME

AMERICANS DEMAND #AUDITTHEVOTE. YOUR DEMOCRACY IS AT STAKE.

3. EXIT polls do NOT match up with results in 4 key states. Hillary won according to exit polls in NC, PA, WI, and FL.

4. Trump won these with RAZOR-THIN margins. Also this. A shift of just 55,000 votes to Hillary in PA, MICH & WISC would’ve made Hillary the winner.

The DHS official — speaking on background because of the subject’s sensitive nature — explained that hackers of all stripes are constantly testing the digital defenses of every state’s public-facing election systems. But in 20-plus states, the agency determined that these intrusion attempts have become what DHS calls “probing of concern.”

6. Feds believe Russians hacked Florida elections-system vendor. (And remember they hacked the DNC emails).

In Florida: Lost by 120,000. One Attorney quoted in article: “Tallahassee-based VR Systems was also allegedly hacked. The company provides electronic poll books for a number of jurisdictions which communicate in real time with each county’s voter registration system. According to the company’s web site VR Systems serves almost all of Florida’s counties and 14 other states.“
In Wisconsin: Lost by 27,000 votes. BUT: “But Clinton won only counties using all-paper ballots, the computer voting experts said. In the counties using a mix of electronic and paper-based voting systems that President Obama won in 2012, Clinton lost by 1-2 percent. In the Obama counties using all paperless machines, she lost by 10 to 15 percent”
In North Carolina: Lost by 178,000. “… what happened across the state on Election Day has become the focus of serious concern for the election integrity experts. In one Democratic epicenter, Durham County, the state’s voter registration database and e-poll books tied into it were down, prompting long lines, delays and necessitating people fill out provisional ballots. The data was also scrambled, with voter rolls in the wrong locations, people tagged as voting when they had not, and people not on lists even though they had their state registration cards. Those snafus were reported to election protection call centers.”
“… if it was the latter, who was behind the cyberattack? These questions must be answered immediately, especially if the answers lead to questions about the integrity of the election process in other jurisdictions.
In Michigan: Lost by 11,000 votes. “Election night’s unofficial returns found Trump ahead by 11,000 votes. But 87,000 ballots did not show a presidential vote, the election integrity team said, which broke a 49,000 empty-vote record from previous presidential election”
In Pennsylvania: Lost by 68,000 votes. “… The concern is that 16 counties are still using aging countywide tabulators which Finnish computer security specialist Harry Hursti has shown can be easily hacked to change the reported results. These computers use old versions of Microsoft operating systems, which have security vulnerabilities that have never been fixed.

9. Unsurprisingly, in many places, HILLARY won in counties using paper votes but lost in those using electronic in key states. For example: North Carolina  and Wisconsin .

And there’s so much more. Like the fact that manipulating vote count in just a dozen areas in few key states would be enough.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

MOST IMPORTANTLY: call the Dept of Justice comment line at 202 353 1555 and leave a message asking to #AuditTheVote due to Russian interference. DO IT RIGHT NOW, PLEASE. CALLS ARE BEING TALLIED.

DEMAND AUDIT IN NC, MI, PA, and WI.

Me: why do I feel so sad right now
My brain: you're a human being with emotions and a lot of stuff going on in your life, on top of that you have a known history with depression which means sometimes you have moods that don't necessarily reflect your situation, and you've just got to be patient through the times when your contentment lies fallow
Me: no that doesn't sound right
My brain: oh shit then maybe we should buy like ten dollars worth of candy
Me: that seems right, that feels right, I'm glad we had this talk

hey fellow people who live in the US

don’t forget to register to vote before February. millenials are the largest age group rn but we’re the smallest group to actually vote. ik you think your vote doesn’t matter, but it really does esp when you add all of us up. voting is super important, especially if you don’t want a republican run congress. you might not want to do jury duty if you register, but voting is sooo important. pls register to vote. it’s your right to vote, and honestly, if you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain about politics/who’s president bc you did nothing to change it (as long as you’re 18+ by the deadline)

thanks

Just updated my voter information. It takes about ten minutes, and at least if you’re in PA you’ll need your driver’s license and the last 4 digits of your SSN. There’s no reason not to do this if you’re able. Thanks everyone.

also, not registering to vote won’t excuse you from jury duty. they go by information collected from the post office. of all the lame reasons people gave me for not wanting to exercise their right to vote back when I was organizing registration drives, that was definitely one of the stupidest.
