He took them off her and read them, although he was too drunk to process the writing. He shook his head and handed back what the lady before him just gave.

"I… I can’t read ‘em.."

Snow paused for a moment, biting her lip, glancing at the clock as she wracked her brain. It wouldn’t hurt to leave for a few minutes, right?

"Uhm. Follow me?" she chimed, more of a question than a statement, getting out of her seat and slipping on her jacket.

"I'm comin' missus, just.. just gimme a minute." He replied, stumbling over and falling to his legs.

"Eheh.. whoops."

"Damn right I want a nip. Finally a man with some alcohol around here! Though I don’t think I could ever be drunk enough for this apocalypse shit." Cathryn sat down beside the man as if she’d known him…

He looked at the girl with a smile, he agreed with her words and actually picked up his guitar and rested it on his legs and took a deep sigh.

"I agree, music is what kept me n’ my band goin’ I suppose. Though… we weren’t much of a’ band."

"I used to be in a band…we weren’t very popular. Local hole-in-the-wall joints and my school’s yearly talent show. Man, it seems like so long ago. What’s it been, though…almost 3 years? I can’t tell anymore. I wonder if anyone I know is still alive."

"My life before the apocalypse revolved ‘round death. Yer’ friends, yer’ family.. anyone. People could die from malnuritment, dehydration, diseases. You don’t wanna know what the head woman had ta’ do to even bring me… and my ‘family’ some warm food."

"Wow…I can’t even imagine. I mean, it’s easier to imagine now…but still.” Cathryn was stumped for words. The apocalypse had really put things in perspective for her. Before, people didn’t even stop to think about others. Most people couldn’t even spare a dollar for a hungry man. She looked at the ground and roughed up the dirt with the heel of her boot.

"This really makes the stuff people used to worry about seem stupid. Upgrading cell phones every few months, not being able to find your favorite shoes…" She paused for a moment. "It makes you wish you had spent less time with your TV and more with people you love." There was a slight crack in her voice towards the end of her sentence.

He nodded his head and took another drink, it's all he had nowadays. He may have been homeless before this but even then he had friends who he called his family. It was all gone now, but why dwell over the past?

"Yeah.. I was always with loved ones. I was the wise ol' grandfather type of guy who helped fellow people who were down. I don't know if I actually helped though."

"Y'know any Willie Nelson?"

"Are ya talkin’ about the singer?" Daryl raises an eyebrow at the man. "Cause I don’t know what yer talkin’ about."

"Yeah, the singer." He replied, taking a drink out of a whiskey bottle. He then looked at the crossbow wielding man.

"I dunno any other one."

Daryl eyes the whiskey the man was drinking. Not the best kind, but not the worst either.

"Yeah. I remember ‘im. Merle use ta play him in his jeep." Daryl shrugs his shoulder. "Any reason ya askin’?"

He continued to drink it in between sentences, taking a long sigh after each gulp. It was pretty strong stuff, but it did the job.

"Big fan of 'im, he just came to mind is all... what do you think of 'im?"

"Lost? Nah.. I ain’t.. I ain’t lost. I need a place to stay, missus. I need a place… I need a place to settle down n’ just… just sleep."

Snow bit her lip in thought, eyes scanning her desk in quiet thought.

"It’s… not much, but. Here," she piped up, digging through her purse before retrieving a small fold of bills. "Most of the hotels around here are… pretty cheap, I believe."

He took them off her and read them, although he was too drunk to process the writing. He shook his head and handed back what the lady before him just gave.

"I’ve been waitin’ fer quite some time now, missus. I gettin’ a house or not? Gettin’.. tired a’ waiting."

"I’m… sorry, sir, but are you sure you aren’t. Uhm. Lost?"

"We don’t… sell houses."

"Lost? Nah.. I ain't.. I ain't lost. I need a place to stay, missus. I need a place... I need a place to settle down n' just... just sleep."
