Liam during Logan Paul interview on his love for Louis and Louis' being crucial to One Direction's success:

"Every time we made a new album, we slightly turned the influence of rock up....to the point where our 5th album, [a musician from The Eagles] said this is the best song you've ever written....

'Louis was WILD! Louis was wild. And he wanted to be wild. That's his spirit. And also he's my best mate...[At first in the band] we hated each other. Like come to blows. It was close....

His journey and mine was a little bit different. I was blessed because I got to sing the first verse every week because I had done so many gigs before...I wouldn't freeze [and then everybody else would relax].

The roles changed...what you find in bands is whoever's not singing that much will find their voice behind the stage.

And Louis did find his voice behind the stage and he found his voice later on the rest of the albums.

I would happily say now - even though at the time it was the absolute death of me - he made all the right choices that I wouldn't have made.

It was me leading the band from the front onstage and him making critical decisions on what songs we did.... He knew what we should be. He knew what he wanted to identify as.

That's why he's out touring right now and hats off to him.

He was crucial, crucial, crucial. Even without the singing."

“The whole notion of celebrity is a really weird concept to me. I get star-struck by certain people I meet through my job, so on the one hand I have to acknowledge that I admire some stars in that way, but when people tell me that they, or someone they know, are star-struck by me, I frankly find it completely absurd.”
