Happy Holidays!! (and also rest in pieces Kaworu)

We’re finishing off 2015 working on new cosplay, and what better way to end the year of Evangelion than with work in progress pictures of our Asuka cosplay?

Most of what we’ve done is planning and making all the small details, and once we get more work done on the plugsuit itself, expect more pictures to come!

Happy Holidays from Hexagon Cosplay!

Our Agent Florida helmet!

If you happily ignore the mess of our dorm, you’ll notice our finished ODST helmet for Butch Flowers, RVB. Which was made out of boredom in less than 23 straight hours. Constructed from cardboard, masking tape, craft foam (as is my custom for every project), and magic model clay (a material we DO NOT recommend to use, it ended up ruining our helmet! But we’re too lazy and tight on time/money to redo it). For our visor we found a plastic mask during halloween for about eight dollars that had a highly reflective material like sunglasses.

More pictures on our steps below. You can find better youtube tutorials online, but if you want to hear about the problems we ran into while we worked on our helmet, then read on.

Love tribbles? Love ‘em enough to want to wear them around? Then you definitely want to make your very own tribble skirt!* (*not recommended for daily wear- very heavy!)

We made this tribble skirt for Kat’s Captain Kirk cosplay, and we thought we’d make a tutorial for anyone else who wants to follow in our footsteps!

It's been a while since we've updated with any of our projects (we've been busy) but here we go! The early WIP of how we made Gaige (Borderlands) arm. The hand was the most interesting part of the entire arm and we had fun working the fingers. By fun we mean, we wanted to cry until one of us came up with a creative way to do it.

Here’s Rhys’ arm from Tales From The Borderlands. It needs the palm and battery box attached plus new fingers made. It’s fully functional. Great movement, working LED light in the palm, and is as close to accurate shape wise as a poorly animated robotic arm from a video game that doesn’t know how elbows work, as my girlfriend and I could get. pyrogavinofree and katherine-rose More direct updates to our borderlands cosplay is on rhyscup Whilst this is our main page for all our work. I’ll answer any questions but so far materials used: - card stock, craft foam, hot glue, my tears, Kat’s tears, plastic dip spray, mod podge, spray paint, fabric paint, painters tape, patience, LED lights, reflector tape, a toggle switch, wire, electrical tape, real screws, more tears. It’s 90% craft foam 10% pain

So much patience. If you’re gonna build this arm, you need to be prepared to scream about hexagons for 50 years. Literally. Figuring out how to make the pattern of his arm come to real 3D terms and be round, because human arm, was miserable. It took four straight days and it’s not even done yet?

started on the vest today for Rhys from Tales from the Borderlands

11 solid hours of making a stencil (then remaking it), taping JUST the back upper panel off, and hand mixing Basics Liquitex Ivory Black with regular knock off white acrylic paint to make a gray. We found a polyester vest that was the exact shape and cut on a luck find to the Flea Market. Paid five dollars for it and another four for the paint.
