Kayla, the Fire House’s Scion is a quiet, stoic woman who believes her duty is to protect those less powerful than she is and to kill God and reclaim the world for humanity. Her naive beliefs on how she would become a hero if only her wards could see that she’s the only one that can save them leads to her docile, non confrontational behavior towards them most of the time. However, when differences arise on the matters of hunting and killing monsters, she is quick to anger and sharp tongued, stubborn and impatient. Although usually more than willing to follow orders, she’s also not above breaking the rules if she believes it to be for the best, even if she fears the consequences greatly.
As the other Scions, she doesn’t remember her past, having seemingly awoken one day at her House with only the barest knowledge of her own identity, although that of the world around her remained intact. She mostly accepts the meager answers her wards have provided, as what mostly nags at her is what she could be doing with her powers, rather than where they, or even she herself, came from.
The relics bestowed upon her by the Fire Archon are a sword, a book, a veil and a garter and she is most skilled in offensive, destructive magic.

I’ve decided to start posting the chapters to royalroad as well, so for those of you that have an account (or wouldn’t mind making one), it would really help out if you rated / followed / commented there! I’m still deciding whether or not I’m gonna move there permanently and post links to it, rather than full chapters, to other platforms, but it’s a tempting option, simply because it makes things so much easier.
For now, the serial updates every Saturday at 7pm, but there might be a few surprises coming.
I’m looking into setting up a Patreon with extra suffering– I mean stories, access to early releases of chapters and art and some other goodies, so stay tuned for everything that’s coming!

I keep calling it that because I’m still not sure what it will be, to be honest. I come from the novel writing side of things. A long while ago, I had an opportunity to start a career on that and passed it on due to, well, very dumb reasons. But we can’t run from our nature and all that, so ideas kept nagging at me and I kept creating.
I’ve been talking about this secret project since I first joined tumblr and I’m finally ready to start revealing it *loud horn* years later! I’m looking for feedback and beta readers, which will have certain perks down the road, so if you’re interested, keep reading!

Fantasy Fans Preference Survey
I’m interested in seeing how opinions vary between neurotypicals and neurodivergents, as well as specifically schizoid people, in regards to their preferences on fantasy media (whether books, animanga, series, videogames, what have you), so I decided to make a survey about it.
If you’re interested in participating, click the link for which of the following applies to you. (The surveys are exactly the same, except for a question on the neurodivergent one that asks about what kind of mental illness the taker suffers from.)
- This is, by no means, any kind of official survey and shouldn’t be taken as such. I’m just interested, both out of curiosity as someone with a PD and as an aspiring author, to see whether there is any kind of trend in preferences between these three groups.
- It’s completely anonymous and I won’t be keeping any personal data on anyone.
- I’ll be posting the survey to other places as well and I encourage you all to spread the link to others who like fantasy.
- Needless to say, but please only vote once.
- Most of the preference questions are not multiple choice exactly so you’ll have to pick which one is more important to you; we already know that “a balance between all elements” is the ideal answer.
- The survey is on my series-related email account simply because I prefer not to use my personal one.
- It’s my first time doing a survey, so let me know if anything is broken and I’ll fix it ASAP!
I’ll leave the survey open for about a week or two and then post the results once I close it. Should be interesting to see the differences.

In case anyone still interested in Ryo-kun is still around, a quick update:
Despite saying he would never get on a stage againHe’s participating in a concert on August 6th.- He’s “officially” back, but he still doesn’t know what to do about uploads. For now, he’s put a few songs up on his twitter and recorded about 800 others
that will prolly never see the light of day. He showed a bunch on a twitcast and they ranged from Koshitantan to glow to World of Paradox. - Last twitcast, he went “I really want to do a solo live again… I guess I have a lot to think about…” before hastily saying bye and cutting it off.

No problem!! I was gonna translate the whole thing, but I’ve been too busy/tired/upset to do it, but basically that’s the gist of it. I’ll summarize what he said without my own thoughts on it here:
His contract wasn’t renewed due to unknown reasons. Whether it was because Equal wasn’t selling, due to a misunderstanding or because his behavior was bad, he has no idea. He was given complete freedom to do what he wanted with the band’s name and logo and he had offers from other places to keep singing, but he got disheartened and ended up not taking them. He apologized for being weak on that. He then locked himself up at home, kept trying to compose and hit a block. Eventually, he realized that it had all become an obligation to him and it stopped being fun, so he ended up listening to his old stuff and thinking how much fun it used to be and crying.
He got laid off late July and found something else in August. He apologized for being so late in talking about the issue, said that he’s really happy with the work he’s doing now, that he loves and respects the people around him very much.
He also said that he “won’t be getting up on stage, anymore” and that probably won’t be meeting us (the fans) anymore again, but that, if he feels like singing, he would still like to sing whatever he feels like from time to time.
After people started thanking him for everything up until now and otsukaresama’ing him and saying they wouldn’t forget him, he reiterated on twitter that he wanted to keep singing, even though it was “embarrassing”. He’s also been active on instagram.
That’s all, I think! If there’s anything anyone is unclear on, feel free to ask, as I’ve seen some people being confused about this matter! Or just. Cry at me over him leaving, if you want.

In case anyone’s been wondering about Ryo-kun, here’s a quick update:
- He’s been uploading samples of covers he’s been doing on his instagram. However, he deletes them 6~10h after uploading them, so I’d suggest turning notifications on so you won’t miss them (hopefully).
- He’s also been doing instalives, so notifications would also help with catching those.
- He had a twitcas with maro, which you can listen to here. (PS: He said on that twitcast, on the topic of marriage, that it was still a ways off because he wants to “work on music”. Take that as you will. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
