- Crowds -

For the better part of last year, crowds were a part of my every day life. Specifically the concert goers.  Since I don't necessarily look forward to being in large crowds, I think that is why I find them so interesting. A bunch of sweaty individuals, packed in to a confined space, ready to go apeshit for their favorite music. As more of an observer, I've watched a lot of crazy things go down in crowds. Full on fights, various forms of sex, kids completely passing out right in front of me... in a way there's more taking place here than there is on stage. I often take a break from the "Act" and focus on the people who paid to enjoy it.

If you take the time, it is fun to zoom in and study the emotions/expressions that are on some peoples faces.

- LEE -

My brother Mcabe and I were shooting a photography project today in our neighborhood when Lee drove by us in his beat up truck. Of course we waved him down and asked if we could take a picture of Him and his epic beard.

After a brief conversation, Lee revealed to us that his wife died about 3 weeks ago and he is cruising around looking for scrap metal for money. When I asked if he had an email or a phone number so I could send him the pictures, he did not seem to want to give us that information...

I began to wonder to myself "How can this man have such a big smile after such a hardship ?" By the time I snapped out of my head he was saying goodbye and drove off. If you are reading this, I'd like to ask you to take a second and throw a quick prayer up for Lee in Burbank, CA.

It is very easy to get into a routine on tour. Wake up, make coffee, find a place to shit and then hang around the venue all day... Luckily there are days like this one in ATL. Some friends hosted a few of us at their beautiful home for the afternoon. Had an amazing time drinking Bourbon and talking about camera stuff. It was kind of weird, they reminded me very much of my own family. We had a few moments to take some photos before we had to leave. Great people & great times!
