Keying/graffiti-ing someones car is old news now if someone cheats we go at their wardrobe with a seam ripper

yknow what? Fuck you *unstitches all your shirts and jeans*

My mother did this to my father once. They got into an argument, my very pregnant and hormonal mother stormed off…except they lived in a tiny apartment so the only place to go was to shut herself into the closet for a good long sulk. And while she was sitting in there, fuming, she looked up and saw her sewing kit on the shelf, and all my father’s uniforms hanging right there.

So she picked one shirt and one pair of trousers, carefully, methodically ripped every third stitch out of every seam, and then hung them back up together so that he would be likely to pick them at the same time. This took her a couple hours, so by the time she was done, the anger had worn down. She came out, she and my father had a talk that ended in apologies, after which they were tired and went to bed. My mother swears up and down that she meant to warn my father about the sabotaged clothes in the morning, but he wore a different uniform set and they were both still feeling a little raw, so she didn’t want to bring up the fight again. She decided to tell him that night instead.

And then she forgot.

Anyway, about four days later, my father apparently came home roughly an hour after he left for work, his clothes slowly, gently shredding off his body, the most bewildered expression on his face. “Paula,” he said, his voice mildly shell-shocked. “Paula, my clothes are broken.”

My mother promptly burst out laughing so hard that she went into labor. And that’s the story of my birth, heralded by petty vengeance and utter confusion.

18-22 is a confusing age. I got friends getting married, some in prison, and some still have to ask their parents to stay out past curfew.

“The best thing about us is we’re there for each other emotionally. It’s like we go through the ride together. I think when one of us is kinda hurting, we hurt with them. We’re just there. We’re like shoulders to cry on, we’re holding hands, we give each other advice, we have each other’s backs. It’s that constant support system of having sisters there all the time. I’m thinking, that’s what I love about us. We always, always, have each other’s backs. It’s just important I think the industry we’re in and the things that happen, we go through it together and that’s why it’s less daunting.”

i will never forgive you sick fucks who made Jesy Nelson feel ashamed of her voice and body for the 9 years she was in little mix. shame on you for tearing a woman’s spirit down and participating in the cruel sport of making women feel bad about their weight and talents. shame on you for sending her hate tweets and always asking her how it feels to be the “other type” in the band. shame on you for hurting this woman’s mental health to the point where she felt like she needed to leave the group to better herself which she is entitled to!

y’all will learn to stop being assholes to women and and their bodies one day.

to all of Jesy’s fans, keep lifting her up. she needs your good vibes.

and to every single person that hurt her, fuck you.

jesy nelson leaving little mix is sad but what’s even sadder is that nothing ever changes when it comes to how women in the entertainment industry are treated by those who buy into shallow and damaging notions of how the “perfect female entertainer” should look. those same people, with their sheer audacity and lack of self-awareness, who shamed her for being “ugly” and “not being thin enough” compared to her band mates, will no doubt be writing messages of support to her right now; but in six months time they’ll have forgotten all about jesy nelson and moved onto their next target. the endless rancid cycle of damage to the mental health and self-worth of female entertainers will just continue to perpetuate itself unabashedly.
