The copy of the Sandman tarot that you had John Matthews send me arrived today. It's beautiful! What a wonderful piece of work you have done! I hope you are very proud of yourself, because you deserve to be.

Talk about timing! Wow! I’m chuffed you think the deck looks good. Thank you so sososososo much! It was a real labor of love so really just more of an excuse to geek out over something I enjoy. I seem to have a habit of making things that allow me to foist my obsessions on unsuspecting folks. Or just slipping your books into my library stacks, I’ve done that too 🫠

We're in the final hours of my Final Fantasy tarot Kickstarter. This pin is an exclusive add-on for everyone who's backed the project. Unlike the decks themselves, of which I will probably end up with extras, these pins are going to be ordered exactly to the number of backers I have. If you're interested...

WONDER BAR (1934) | dir. Lloyd Bacon

“The other [scene that stands out above the rest] involved a handsome man, asking a dancing couple if he could cut in. The female partner, expecting his attention, agrees, only to see him dance with her male partner. Jolson then flaps his wrist and says, “Boys will be boys. Woo!”. This scene almost caused the Production Code to reject the film, and was featured in the opening scenes of the documentary film The Celluloid Closet (1996).”
