My observations and experiences as a Pagan Woman of Color:
It is for these reasons (and so many experiences like them), I find it hard to claim I am pagan at times. The connotation of the word has shifted from “country-dweller”, to “person not of a Abrahamic faith”, to “a person of European ancestry following a religion loosely based on Western European and/or Northern European religions”.
If I say I am pagan, it is assumed I am white. If I correct that, then I am accused of race-baiting, wanting to be a Special Snowflake, denying my ancestry, or wanting to be white. I am immediately considered a charlatan compared with infamous characters as Miss Cleo and Dionne Warwick. I’m obviously trying to lead young impressionable real pagans (read: white) away with my fake hoodoo mumbo jumbo.
If I remain silent, I am viewed as commiserating with the very people that would render me invisible.
If I speak up, I am viewed as spreading lies and assaulting white people everywhere in my quest to destroy the Caucasian race and self-worth.
I have nothing to add to the arguments discussions being held back and forth. I’m just a Pagan Woman of Color, that has found refuge in her personal friends, but views the Pagan Community at large racially hostile towards People of Color and has had that view justified far too many times than not.
THIS is why the Pagans of Colour blog needs to exist, because these are not isolated incidences.
where is aja why does this only have 500 notes

I started re-watching Inception yesterday and got all the feels again.
Forever and ever and ever.
I should probably feel more sorry about this. (insp.)
Since you're such a smart ass what exactly did black women invent? I answer that. Nothing!
Melania Trump’s speech…
Plus things like CCTV, easily removable convertible tops, toilet paper holders, improvements in cataract surgery, and research that lead to touch tone telephones, portable faxes, caller ID, call waiting, and fiber optic cables.
A black woman’s DNA is responsible for majority of the twentieth centuries cell, cancer and vaccine research. Fuck you anon.

someone: inception wasn’t the greatest. the concept was cool i guess but it was kind of bor-
me: so like, anyways! u know that scene where they’re in the hotel in the dream and eames is on the floor about to put the needle in his wrist—which he was totally capable of doing by himself by the way—and arthur just fuckin, comes over, gently takes eames hand and puts the needle in for him while eames lays back and smiles up at him and is like “security’s gonna run you down hard” and arthur smiles and shoots back “and i will lead them on a merry chase” and eames huffs and says “just be back before the kick” and arthur is like “go to sleep mr eames” like what the fuck? was that eames seriously telling arthur to be careful and to be safe??? was that arthur honestly smiling back at him and saying “of course, im going to be perfectly fine” like it sounds like a conversation they’ve had before? don’t even get me started on the “EAMES? he’s in mombasa!” honestly arthur how the fuck did you know that. HOW! why was there so much subtext, c nolan? i need answers it’s been 5 years i am tired

One of the most promising male birth control techniques so far has just passed another major hurdle, with trials in rabbits showing that one injection can deliver safe and effective contraception to males for at least 12 months - no condoms required.
Importantly, the results so far also indicate that the treatment, known as Vasalgel, is fully reversible, which is pretty exciting after years of condoms being the only reversible way for men to control their fertility. Human trials will begin later this year, with developers claiming it could be available to the public as early as 2018.
Developed by US-based not-for-profit company, the Parsemus Foundation, Vasalgel works by blocking the tube sperm travels down - the vas deferens - with a flexible, spongy, hydrogel material. That means all the important fluids can still get through, but larger objects, like sperm, can’t, which prevents pregnancy.
Injecting Vasalgel into the vas deferens is pretty quick and easy, and the latest animal trials suggest that the contraceptive is longer-lasting than the developers had been expecting.
Now we have to see if men will actually be willing to be the responsible party.
Vast generalization, yes. I'm not feeling charitable today.
Dr. Mae Jemison, MD, the first black woman in space and first actual astronaut to appear on a Star Trek show, one of the very few people on this planet of whom two pictures can be posted depicting them doing their job on a spaceship with entirely different contexts.
Holy shit this is a serious contender for the best post I’ve ever seen on tumblr.
Whenever I’m feeling a little down, I watch this video. Marina Sirtis speaks beautifully on the subject of loving yourself even when society tells you not to. Her honesty and openness is breathtaking.
To try and save Lisa, Ianto managed to get her out of Canary Wharf, which had been destroyed by cybermen and daleks. He builds a cyber conversion unit, pretty much stalked Jack to get a job in Torchwood Cardiff, snuck her into the basement, and was getting the help of a scientist to try and reverse the conversion. He lies to all of his friends, betraying their trust in an attempt to save the woman he loves. He made that risk of being discovered every single day, and knew what could happen to him, but he wouldn’t give up on her.
To try and save Jack in CoE, after the hub and Jack have been blown up, he’s on the run, and being hunted. He manages to loop back to the hub and watches Jack’s body being collected and taken away. He manages to track the truck that takes Jack away, finds where they’re holding Jack and watches as they fill his cell with concrete. He steals a JCB, rips the cell out of the wall, and gets out of the compound to a quarry where he breaks Jack out of the concrete slab and saves Jack’s life.
Basically, what I’m trying to say is Ianto Jones will do whatever it takes to try and save the person he loves.
Short Dark-haired Female Cis Hetero Engineer Sarcastic Realistic Whovian Trekkie Feminist The above as insults make about as much sense as shouting "potato chip lover!" as a derogatory term. None of the above amount to being: Racist Misogynist Misandrist Homophobic Transphobic Xenophobic Classist Keep in mind what the real problems are.
This video was posted by the mother of India Kager, who was shot 30 times by the police. One more unheard story of a black woman executed by the police for nothing. Moreover, for a really long time Mass Media didn’t have any information about this case.
In September India Kager, a 27-year-old Navy veteran from College Park, Maryland, was sitting with her boyfriend and 4-month-old son, Roman.
Perry was a “person of interest” in a homicide, according to the police. They additionally claim that they had “confidential information” that he “was going to” commit a “violent crime.” But that’s about all they’re willing to say at this time to justify the incident.
Kager had nothing to do with her boyfriends crimes – past or future.
However, officers began firing rounds that killed both Perry and Kager, indiscriminately. The baby, however, managed to survive – no thanks to the police who sprayed bullets wildly a the car.
Police didn’t explain anything and no justice for her daughter happened, so she is begging for it.
God Help you.
