So our heating pad is broken and my sis needed it right away, so what do I do? Throw it back to my roots. My momma taught me how to make a heating pad just like the slaves did (she got the secret from her grandma who was born a slave). Take a cast iron skillet or a skillet that you don’t care about and fry salt at a medium high temp stirring it frequently for 10-20 min, then put the salt in some old pillow cases (double bag it) and it should last you anywhere from 45min- 2 hours depending on how long you have it on the stove. It’s always good to know in case your in a bind like now. Happy Black History Month.
