Welcome to our end of season feature! Just like we did with the amazing Mobeen Ansari at the end of our first submissions session, we have with us another exceptional photographer from the country whose work is showcased here on ODPK! This time around the photographer in question is the epic Danial Shah! We got to him first through his amazing Instagram feed (linked below) and later on his website and other social galleries, and knew we had to bring him on board. The breadth of his work and experience, as well as his multiple features in Dawn, Tribune & Herald made him an ideal candidate for the featured artist treatment and so here we are with a three-part special!  This first post is a collection of pictures we've selected that show a glimpse into the various cultural sights Danial captured during his extensive travels in the northern regions of the country.  -- Photographer: Danial Shah Instagram: @DanialShah_ Website: www.danialshah.com Gear: Canon EOS 7D, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM SLR Lens, Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS UD, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, Joby Gorillapod, NatGeo Africa NG A5270 Medium Rucksack Software: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom "Danial Shah is a freelance travel and documentary photographer / writer based in Karachi, Pakistan. Admin's Note: Part of One Day In Pakistan's aim, aside from showcasing Pakistan's natural beauty, history and modern-day settings is sharing insights into the cultural aspects of the country. It is with this aim that we share our first post devoted to the arts of the land, specifically the inaugural Music Mela Conference, held in 2014.  Pakistan's first ever Music Mela Conference (May 2-4, 2014) at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Islamabad was organised by the US Embassy in collaboration with the Pakistan-US Alumni Network (PUAN), and Zeejah Fazli (President) & Areib Azhar (Creative Director) of Foundation for Arts, Culture and Education (FACE).

The event also included Master classes, presentations, workshops, lectures, and panel discussions with music industry luminaries. Moreover, the conference included sessions with directors of successful music projects, panel discussions, with leading exponents of the music industry, stalls for the introduction and outreach of folk musicians and upcoming bands.
