We've all been down here too long. I truly think there's a chunk of tumblr's population that can no longer survive sunlight.
women will say “hear me out” and show u a photo of pyramid head and then tumblr users will go “this is a perfectly normal man and an ice cold take”

I love when information revealed at the end of a story recontextualizes something said or done at the beginning. Like yes queen make the story a loop let the story keep developing even though the book is closed and the credits are rolling. The story never ends it just starts over.
wrote 800 words for my queen’s thief fanfic and this came to me
I love the whole thing with Eugenides saving Teleus and Aris' squad.
I mean, it worked, and Gen has a point, but Attolia's how dare you! reaction is also so understandable. He brings up something that Attolia privately considers her greatest failure (when did she stoop to torturing boys?), to warn her that she is about to do it again. He brings up something that is private, that is theirs. That Gen, delirious and in pain, once looked into Attolia's eyes and said mercy, goddess. On your wisdom and love, when Attolia knew his gods had given him to her, that in that moment she, the one who had hurt him, was the only one listening to his plea.
It's such a private thing and she is so right to be so angry with him for dredging all that up again. But he is also right for keeping her from killing one of her only friends over his honor. What a scene!
hey bad news uh. your boyfriend became the vessel for a vengeful god of thieves and now he’s compelled to kill against the wishes of his very soul. yeah sorry he can bear his god a little without losing himself. not a lot though
Because being a Derry Girl, well, it's a fucking state of mind.
Gather ‘round, you vagabonds pickin’ fruit and hoppin’ freights. Anyone who’s wondering, wondering why the winds have changed. I’ll sing a song of a love gone wrong, between a mighty king and queen. Gather 'round and I’ll sing a song Of Hades and Persephone.

"if i was orpheus i would simply not turn around" yes you would. if you were orpheus and you loved eurydice, you would. to love someone is to turn around. to love someone is to look at them. whichever version of the myth — he hears her stumble, he can't hear her at all, he thinks he's been tricked — he turns around because he loves her. that's why it's a tragedy. because he loves her enough to save her. because he loves her so much he can't save her. because he will always, always turn around. "if i was orpheus i would simply —" you wouldn't be orpheus. you wouldn't be brave enough to walk into the underworld and save the person you love. be serious
it's all tropes, smut, and dialogue... can we talk about prose? the actual written word? like do you people actually write or what's going on here.
Imagine you’re some little evil woman sitting in Hades’ throne room when Orpheus walks in to make a deal to get Eurydice back, and Hades is like “yeah ok, just don’t look back otherwise she has to stay here” then walks out of the room. Almost immediately after hearing the conditions, Orpheus breaks his own neck so that it is physically impossible for him to turn it, and then demands that you gouge out his eyes for good measure. Eurydice then gets really upset because she’s convinced this is a sign that Orpheus hates her and never wants to see her again, and Orpheus is completely convinced that this was a normal and logical thing to do.
You are literally the only person in the universe who recognizes this as an act of love. They both then insult you to your face for thinking this is anything other than very normal (Orpheus), or petty hatred (Eurydice).
You are Ianthe Tridentarius.
